Free that is, unless they're not landed aristocrats. Sacking defenseless cities hardly provokes sympathy from other powers, nor does it suggest strength. The United States are on a mission of human rights and will accept nothing less than unconditional surrender.

With school starting again I've found that I simply don't have time to play all of the pbems I'm involved in. So, I've been forced to pull out of this one

France and Spain Strike North!

After seeing far greater wealth in the fertile fields of the Confereracy then in the Mexican wastes, French and Spanish forces have landed in the CSA.
Once Tampa was occupied French/Spanish troops were able to fan out across Florida and South Carolina, capturing the lightly held cities of Jacksonville and Charleston.

While this was going on Spanish agents were able to persude the garrison of Mobile to surrender their city in return for $200 million dollars and a promise to re-open the traditional and lucrative slave trade.

Whoa, at first I thought this was Turtledove's American Empire scenario, I didn't know there was another of the same name. Although that was all right, I was surpised and relieved that this was a Civil War game.

No changes this turn. However, I noticed that I am at war with the Confederates. I didn't see that on the thread, so is this just from the AI's reaction to Brownsville and in reality we are keeping peace, or have we actually been at war?

Also, for any of the people who were planning on gifting techs to Mexico but Winterfritz refused, I am willing to take them. I have more than enough bandits, not to mention that they aren't as good as they sound. Specifically I want Railroad and Explosives, but you can be more generous if you find it in your best interests.
