  • American Empire PBEM

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in playing a PBEM of American Empire? This scenario is available from the Spanish Civ2 Site.

The theatre is the North American continent, from the start of the Civil War to the end of the Spanish American War, 1861-1899. There is a lot of empire building involved, and plenty of open space to do it in. The players are the US, the Confederates, the British (Canada), the Mexicans, the Spanish/French colonies in the Caribbean, the Indians, and the Border States.

Just about all of these are fun to play, with the exception of the Border States. If we can fill all those slots, then this could be a really interesting game.

    I'll take the Mexicans

    Confederates -
    Border States - AI
    French/Spanish -
    Mexicans - winterfritz
    United States -
    English -
    Indians -

If you're asking whether you can control the French/Spanish as well as the English, Soundwave, I'd rather you didn't. It'll be the best if we have seperate players for each of the civs.

Don't worry about the British being boring. Perhaps they are in single player, but in an MP game they will definetely have an interesting time. They are a reasonably powerful nation, and there is nothing to stop them from pursuing territorial ambitions or getting involved in the civil war.

On the other hand, if you were asking whether you could play the French/Spanish instead of Britain, I have no problems with that. Just don't expect conquering Mexico to be a walkover

Ah, okay. I had trouble understanding your first post, but I get it now.

I'd still rather we had a French/Spanish player though. They are one of the major powers in this scen, and conquering them would not be a pushover at all. Besides, the more players in a PBEM like this, the better

The Mexican Republic greatly appreciates your offer of help. Hopefully, when we do get a French/Spanish leader, they will realise the folly of trying to invade our peace-loving nation and send their expeditionary force elsewhere

BTW Anzac, if you want you can play your turn while we wait for those last 2 players, as you go first.

Seeing as how at the moment, all the players here are also in the second AoW PBEM, may I suggest the same 48 hour time limit on the turns in this game? The time limit seems to have kept Age of War going pretty quickly, and it'd be great to see that happen here too.
