        South of the Ural Mountains...

Bullets whizzed by, knocking up clumps of dirt and sand as Michael Collins struggled to replace his gun's cartridge.

"SH*T!" yelled Pablo Ordonez "Mick, get down man!"

Michael ducked as shards of wood and metal flew past his face, scraping the side of his cheek "Christ Pablo, where the hell is the Platoon?"

"I don't know!" he yelled, struggling to speak over the noise "The f*cking Asians won't let up, I can't even see!" he said as he raised his gun over his head and shot wildly.

        "Where's Franz?" asked Michael.

"I don't know, he's got the Goddam coordinates and everything, we're f*cked!" he yelled.

"Alright, sh*t." he said as he finally pushed his clip in.

        "WHAT?" asked Pablo.

"I said alright, sh*t!" replied Michael.

        "WHAT?"

"Shut up you idiot. We have to get outta here!" he yelled as he looked over the foxhole. "Jesus, there's like a whole platoon of chinks over here. Where did you come from?" he asked.

"Over there, there's a detatchment of French, I can't find our platoon at all. I think we're way out of position!" he said, again firing blind into the smoke.

A huge blast hit just yards away from them, lighting up the entire area, sillhouettes of soldiers could be seen in the background running.

"This is f*cking insane!" said Michael "The slopeheads won't let up, you got a cigarette on you?" he asked.

"You're one stupid Irishman." said Pablo as he looked over the foxhole "There's nobody out in front, I say we make a run for it."

        "To where?" Mick asked.

"We gotta get the f*ck outta here!" he said as a shell whizzed overhead and exploded two hundered yards away "I think we're in a dead zone." Pablo stood up.

"What are you doing you stupid spic?!?" said Mick.

"C'mon, you wanna become some Asian's pleasure hole or what?" said Pablo as he fired his gun forward. "Ha! Got one!"

"DON'T SHOOT!" yelled a voice, Michael pulled up his gun.

        "Identify yourself."

"Its me you dumb Taig, its Franz!" he yelled as he flopped onto the ground.

"Jesus Christ Franz, I thought you were dead." yelled Pablo as he fell to his knees.

"Pretty close, I got hit in the damn shoulder, I had to ditch my bag though, lost the f*ckin coordinates." he said clutching his shoulder.

"Lemme see that you p*ssy." said Mick as he lifted Franz's hand "Christ, that's a little scrape!"

"You lost the coordinates, Goddamit, figures, that's what happens when you let a Kraut do a man's job." said Pablo.

"Well alright, what the hell do we do now?" asked Michael.

"I don't know, you're the squad leader here." said Franz.

"Hold on a second, lemme put your arm back in..." said Mick, as he quickly pushed up on Franz' shoulder.

"JESUS CHRIST!" screamd Franz "You didn't even get it in!"

"I'm not a medic." replied Michael.

"Hey shut up you two, we got two chinks comin up!" said Pablo as he sprayed bullets in front of him. "I got em both those stupid-" he fell to the ground clutching his side "God damn stupid f*ckin yellow- ugh, damn I'm hit!"

Michael stood up and ran to them, shooting them both in the head and quickly ran back "You alright Pablo?"

"Yeah, I'm f*ckin fine... except for the bullet in my f*cking ribs! Oww!" he yelled.

        "Stop crying." said Franz.

"Look, we gotta get you two outta here, Franz which way do we have to go, this is your thing." asked Michael.

"Sh*t Mick I dunno. I think we gotta go that way!" he said pointing in the direction of the two dead Asian soldiers.

"Are you kidding me?" asked Mick "That's where all the shells have been coming from."

"The Asians have pushed forward pretty far, I'm telling you, we gotta go that way." said Franz.

Just then a whole platoon of Eurokorps ran past them, then an explosion "DID YOU SEE THAT!?!?" asked Pablo.

"God help us." said Mick "Alright, you p*ssies good to run?"

        "Yeah." said Franz.

"I dunno Mick, I'm f*ckin hurtin." replied Pablo, clutching his ribs.

"Well you can either die here in this foxhole or try to survive, I don't know what to do, we're lost and we've got no maps thanks to this saurkraut eating sh*thead. We might as well go." said Mick. They all stood up and ran, shooting their weapons in front of them...

          To the Right Honourable Enzo
          From the FDP High Council

It is with some great shame that we need to report to you that the Reich Chancellor of the FDP is currently under house arrrest after a group of Texas School Girls claimed he had abused them sexually. We beleive these accusations to of course be false, but as a Just Nastion we have ordered his arrest and are investigating this matter. To fill the vaccumm left by the Reich Chancellor we have appointed the Cousin of Sun Tzu XXXXV to reign in his stead.

As we feel that the meeting you are having is of utmost importance , we would rather the temp ruler of Su Tzu not attend but rather the Reich Chancellor once released should attend.

The FDP would like the following discussed and agreed to.

          1. Full open trade of all commodities.
          2. Scientists from all Western Nations to gather on a regular basis for exchange of learnings.
          3. Peace treaty agreed to by all western Nations
          4. Peace Keeping force pool to be allocated to handle any uprising.
          5. The pursuit of full democratic elections in all Soverign Nations.
          6. A mutual aid fund set up t orebuild infrastructure lost during the last few centuries of war.

We thank you for your invitation and await any outcomes. But as you are banning any nation from learning or outcomes unless they attend then the FDP regrets the chasm that this will form between us and the rest of the west.

          Signed

          Governor Abraham Ben-Judah

            Presidential Palace; Timbuktu

They had been talking for a long time; the traditional water jar, always present on the low table in the room where Chaka conferred with her advisors, had been emptied and was even now being replaced with a full jar by Kuaala, Chaka's personal assistant and Chief of her Honor Guard.

"I think we've pretty much covered what we hope to achieve from this summit, Akien, as far as the major points go. Peace in the region, of course, must be at the top of the list: without some kind of longterm pact of nonagression, it will hard to accomplish anything else. We need time, and the capability to commit our resources to rebuilding and upgrading our infrastructure; and of course, we MUST continue our ongoing terraforming efforts. Thank the Goddess we have been able to maintain our excellent Engineering Korps: see if we can trade upon this as an asset, Akien. The FDP and the Europeans haven't nearly the engineering resources we have, although the Zulus equal us in this regard. They may take building corps in lieu of military aid, and we have more of one to offer than the other. I would like us to steer clear of having to commit to any foreign warmongering; I want to spend no Mali blood on foreign sands for the benefit of others if I can avoid it.
Free trade, and open seas -- these benefit us all, and I don't think we will have any argument from anyone there. I am open to an ongoing exchange of information among our scientific communities: I think this is very important, Akien, for the future; great minds must always be encouraged to think great thoughts, for these often bring great benefits as well as unwelcome change. But the change is inevitable, and so we must able to adapt as well as any."

"At least we haven't a problem with their condition of controlling the press." He couldn't resist this slight barb: one of the things upon which they disagreed was the continued stranglehold Chaka had instituted upon the media since she seized power. There continued to be only one official news agency, and its editorial content was strictly scrutinized by Chaka herself -- more than once in the last year there had been swift and unexpected changes in the editorial staffs of this body. Few questioned this aloud, but there continued to be a growing movement, especially among the younger University crowd, of underground newspapers and pamphleteering.

His mild words were rewarded with a sharp glare, and he sipped his water without looking at her until she sighed and waved her hand at him, as if waving away an unwanted fly.

" What I want to discuss with you now, Akien", she continued as if he had not spoken, "is what we cannot see, what we can hear behind the words they feed us. This is very important! You cannot let these swaggarts lead you on! Yes, they will be full of words; beautiful words to describe the castles in the air they want us to build for them. But look for the costs, Akien, because you must always remember that these people hold no respect for us in their hearts -- they never have."
She leaned forward and refilled his glass from the jar herself, and spoke in lower tones as she did so, so that Akien had to lean slightly forward himself in order to catch what she said.
"You see, Akien, they think like men; they seek to judge us not for our true worth as who we are in our own right, but only by whom we attach ourselves to. And we are not like the wife of a powerful man, Akien, whom one takes to partner and share in the building of one's life, oh no; but more like the mistress, who must be kept apart and in secret, and who must be cajoled and contented with pretty baubles so that she does not disrupt one's true life or seek to share in the true wealth one might have. For while a man may value a mistress for a time, he does NOT have the respect for her that the wife gets.
It is like when you try to woo a woman to your bed: you will flatter her and tell her she is desirable; you will tell her whatever she wants to hear until she succumbs to you. Then, when you have had your way and gotten what you want, suddenly she is not QUITE so desirable. If she asks something of you or makes demands, you resist and feel resentful, as if you are having to pay for something which you have already consumed. In a way you have lost some respect for her in part _because_ you have overcome and gotten your way."

The analogy made him uncomfortable, for he was a man who had kept a mistress himself upon occasion; indeed, the lovely Murisha waited upon him even now; and he had no doubts that his life was an open book to this woman. Though he did not exactly shift upon his cushions, she must have sensed his discomfort, for she merely smiled at him as she offered the glass.

"We MUST command respect, Akien, above all, or we are lost. This is why we must buy time for our people. We have lost too much over the last few hundred years. It is not even a question of regaining stature as much because we have never had it to begin with: so much of our history is tied in with our alliances. Soon it will be the 17th century, Akien! If we are to hold our own as a power in the world, we must build that power ourselves, and not as a 'mistress' to some other people.
Look at what happened to us with the Jews! We were conquered, Akien, even if we came to be allied with the same people: what was their initial response? That WE would convert to their ways, their religion. What did it matter whether we actually did or not, if the perception was there that we survived, and the alliance prospered, by their sufference, and on their terms? And this people that calls itself the FDP now; they have grown, Akien, and we have not. Still we labor to overcome the same problems of poverty, starvation and ignorance, still we rebuild and rebuild some more while others around us have advanced.
And now that they have reduced Europe to a bloody battleground, and quibble over these distant mountain ranges, Akien, NOW is the time for the Mali to go forward! We will be good neighbors, oh yes...but we will be HERE and they will be THERE and that is how I want it kept. Even now they will seek to draw us into this conflict in foreign lands that do not concern us. Kamma is a fool to continue to sleep with the Europeans; the Zulus will be sucked down in their constant imbroglios, and the memory of white men is short, indeed! We cannot let the same thing happen to us with the Israelis, or those shifty Europeans."

"But, we have been in a state of war with the Mongols for centuries! Even if we have not engaged them in battle since before our grandfathers were born; they have never even bothered to formalize a ceasefire!", Akien protested.

This earned him another glare. "And why should they?!" she snapped at him. "This is what I have been trying to tell you! You may think it is not necessary, because we share no common border and have not exchanged fire in generations, but I tell you it shows they do not even have enough respect for us to bother with diplomacy! Even as those with whom we have been at peace for just as long can't be bothered to keep an embassy here or maintain any semblence of common diplomacy! Who knows what the Chinese and the Australians have been up to all this time: they have not been expending _their_ precious resources on survival, you can bet on that! What do you think they have been spending their money on, Akien? I am afraid we may find out all too soon, and to our sorrow. But I not will have us pushed into war for the profits of the Northerners! Let the FDP walk the line of diplomacy, as they are the ones who seek to hold alliances with both the Mali _and_ others -- we will not let them force us to choose again between them and our African brethern: no! they can be the ones who choose this time!"

The man rose and made to take this as a dismissal, but she lifted a hand to touch his sleeve, though she did not rise herself.

"This is what I will agree to, Akien: I have no problem sharing this world peaceably with other peoples. If they ask for assistance from the Mali, we will be proud to offer what aid we can. We DO have assets: our engineering corps is as capable as any in the world; for centuries we have been carving liveable spaces out of the jungles and deserts to sustain us; even as the Zulus, who have been taught the same harsh lessons of our Mother Africa. We do maintain a decent infrastructure: even now you can go from the west coast of Africa to the Nile in a single day without even having to change trains. Hopefully, we will continue to improve our transportation systems with our American colonies; we are building on this every year. But we need to educate our young to survive in an educated world, Akien. We need to rebuild our trade balance in the world markets. For a time we may have the luxury of sitting back and dealing with our problems in our own way, but the world is getting faster and smaller, and that will not last for long. I want what time we can get.

This is how you will represent us in En Nahud.

We will welcome and encourage all trade -- trade is good for everyone!
We will do what we can to rebuild infrastructure: indeed, we are already engaged in this. Our engineering corps will do all it in this effort, both here and in the Americas. We are lucky there wasn't more fighting than what there was there: I have no idea what the Chinese will do: we have lived with them over there for many years and they have never bothered us, as we have not bothered them. We do not pollute our Mother Earth and we will cleanse anywhere we can and are invited to do so. Our engineering corps is our greatest bargaining chip, Akien: use it well. Try to keep us out of any so-called "peacekeeping" efforts. If you can limit us to a commitment of equipment and resources that would be well: I want to never see any Mali have to go to a foreign land and shed blood on foreign sands for foreign gains. At the same time, we need to keep up with the technology, Akien, to maintain a balance of power in the region.
But we will be the reluctant lover: you may flirt, but we will not succumb to their whispered promises in the dark. We will NOT play the role of mistress this time. Regardless of what reality you may perceive, you will hold us as equals in this conference, Akien Mwundu. We will have respect, or we will strive once more to teach them fear! The Mali people are counting on you to represent us well."

Akien gave the politically correct slight bow, and left the room under the cool gaze of the tall black woman who had been standing unobtrusively all this time off to the side of the door to the outer chamber. Though she smiled at him as he left, that smile gave him the willies, and he was glad he had been able to talk Chaka out of her original plan to send with him a full contingent of Honor Guard under the command of Kuuala. The three whom she HAD insisted on were bad enough; he had the feeling they were to be there as much to gauge his performance as to be eyes and ears for Chaka. At least he had won the concession from her that they be fully dressed! After all, everyone knew the strange ideas of the foreigners about any kind of nudity, even if they were meeting in the heat of Africa and not the snows of more Northern climes.
He glanced at the angle of the sun as he emerged into the outer courtyard; good, it was still afternoon. He had enough time to run by and see Murisah before he was expected at home; it would be the last chance he had to see her before he had to catch the train for En Nahud.

As soon as he had left the room, Chaka rose and gestured to her friend and assistant.
"Kuaala! Send in the woman now; I will see her. You can wait for me in the antechamber; I will not be long, and then we will have dinner."
Kuaala frowned at her; she didn't like meetings where she was not personally there to watch over Chaka, but after a moment she shrugged and left the room.
The woman who entered the room could not have been more different than the tall dark warrior who had just left. She was small, slightly built, and fully clothed. Her creamy cafe au lait skin tone attested to her mixed ancestry; next to the fully African leader, she almost appeared to be white. She did not give the perfunctory bow, but merely waited to be addressed.
"I have a job for you, Claudine." Chaka handed her a folder from beneath the layers of notes that lay scattered on the low table. "I think your particular skills will prove to be very useful to us in this endeavor."
The smaller woman merely smiled as she took the folder from Chaka.
            "As you command," she said.

The Aussie Government was engaged in much discussion. A sense of paranoia was creeping over them. They were feeling that the rest of the world was envious of their achievements - Paul's achievements, but where was he? He was not present. A truely democratic discussion ensued and sveral key points were flagged:
              our tech advantage,
              our economic powerhouse and trade,
              our size,
              our military,
our, well, arrogance, perhaps were all worrying the world.

              Or so it seems.

Paul had achieved a peak that provided all the ingredients for his AND Australia's downfall.

It is possible that old friends may become foes.

              Old enemies may become friends.

Surely the path we follow, this peaceful path toward colonisation of the stars, is the correct path to follow for this overcrowded world?
They say we have much military but really we only have a few defence corps in each city. Would they rather we actually TRY to embark on a military buildup?? Vigilance suggests we swing all resources into military production.

It's all Paul's fault that we aren't involved in the international meetings of other nations. He wanted no part of the efforts to hold a peace summit to end the recent wars. We had appeared to encourage these border conflicts!

And Saul, who was also NOT present, was obviously waiting for a moment to topple Paul; but his overseas vists to Israel with The Dame embroiled him in other matters.
Saul's intelligence through the Dame had precipitated the need for the current Aussie Government crisis meeting. She has learnt much of the ways of the thinking of the rest of the world. She has anear everywhere....
Apparently Saul was now on another secret mission, flying in a new fighter, to see some inspirational leaders in the Americas.

Anyway, the upshot of the Govt meeting was to be tough.

An annoucement was made to the world:

"Australia regrets its' ambivalence toward the wars of recent times and sympathises with the plight of those nations involved. We understand our allys right to reclaim territory but believe that no further advances should be made. THe EU are virtually at collapse point and we will not see ANY nation destroyed....
But ANY attack on our ally will be met with the FULL force of the Australian military."

[AND turn length will become very slow indeed]

A communique was also sent to the UAS and Chinese:

"The Australian Government is interested in securing the safety of our region by resurrecting the old Pacfic Pact with the original members of UAS/Mongols and the Chinese. Although an alliance with Israel would also be attractive in many ways, we prefer to 'indirectly' relate to them via the UAS alliance with them. This is not prescriptive but simply a testing of the waters to measure your interest.
We await with interest the response of Lord Dangime, the great fighter, and Prom, the great builder.
Our friendship streches back to the dawn of time and our alliance may well have continued to this day if it were not for the infamous threat by the Mali to annhilate the Chinese!
But, new leadership in Mali land gives rise to optimism..."

Night time on a street in Zimbabwe.....

"General Shakeem, the Australians have publicly stated that they will defend their pathetic mongol allies against any attackers with force! This is horrible, we cannot defend our nation against the Aussies! They are too strong!" Kamma was practically shaking in fear.

As the group turned a corner into the old part of the city, a large black automobile blocked their path. This was the opportunity that the General had been waiting for.

"Jula, it is with great pain that I must do this, but you've forced me into it. Guards! Please detain Ms. Kamma!" the General ordered.

Shakeem had the full support of the military and they would follow any order. This order was treated no differently.

"SHAKEEM! What do you think you're doing?!" Kamma yelled as the two burly guards dragged her kicking and screaming towards the large black automobile.

The general ordered them to stop, just as they were to put Kamma in the back of the auto.

"Jula, you have been making the nation weak and soft! If you had caved to the Australians now, we never would have been able to keep our dignity! We would have looked like cowards! You are hereby removed from your position. The Zulu Nation will no longer bow to terrorists and their accomplices! Enjoy your new accomodations!" Shakeem motioned for the guards to put Kamma into the car and he slammed the door.

The car sped off into the night air and Kamma was gone.

A mysterious man in a long trench coat emerged from the shadows. He spoke to Shakeem:

"Good work general. The country can now develop properly, without that soft hearted Kamma. We shall work directly with you and your army to reach the goals we have previously discussed."

It was the First Chief Directorate of the Zulu Nation's secret police, the KGB, Anru Niloom.

"Yes Niloom, we will reach our goals in our cooperation." Shakeem said.

The Directorate looked both directions warily.
"We must disperse General. We musn't be seen together. All comunications must be kept secret. I will contact you soon. Once again, good work and good night." he said as he disappeared into the shadows once more.

The Geneal nodded and began to walk back towards the base. His guards, who had been waiting for him, joined him by his side and escorted him back to the base, as if nothing had happened.

                  “Have you heard?”

“Yes it is quite a fascinating proposal on both sides”

“The battle for the world is happening much sooner than we expected it”

“Yes General, it all depends on the Israeli now, if they side with the Pacific Pact…. I don’t see much hope for the EU-Zulu alliance, on the other hand…. If they join the “Western Alliance” the war will drag on… even the might of the Australians would be tested against all four, assuming of coarse the Mali join the fray. But just perhaps Israel will stay Neutral, and in that case, the war still goes to the Mongols, Not even Zulu will be able to fight off the Australians.”

“Yes Prometheus, however I believe you left one nation out…. What shall WE do?”

“Ahhh yes the a good question indeed…. One I do not yet know the answer too… What happens to be your opinion General?”

“Well sir if we put off Democracy another few years we could join the “Western Alliance” and try to grab a good chunk of Asia while fighting both the Australians and the Mongols …. On the other hand we could join the Pacific Pact of old with both our good friends and sweep all of America...”

“Or we could stay Neutral as we have done in the past… Democracy has long been a dream of mine General… and now both sides plan to use us…. I have kept us out of wars that would destroy the fragile Chinese Empire.”

“In all due respect sir, the Chinese Empire is hardly fragile now… but perhaps Neutrality is the best answer after all this will not be the last war the world will see, you can count on that.”

“It is something I will have to ponder, in either case I will go to this Conference in Africa and listen to the Ideas of the Western Alliance, and will have to contact the Australians personally… What I decide today will shape the future of China and quite possible the world.”

                    Berlin, Germany; European Union...

                    <img src="http://members.aol.com/lbpslacker/enzo.jpg">

Enzo Pagniacci walked nervously through the house of Parliament, many things had occured in the past few hours. He smiled and nodded at the Eurkorps sentries posted at the large oak doors as they were pushed open. Parliament was bustling with discussion as a low roar flowed throughout the room like rushing water. The noise slowly lowered as the members took notice of Pagnaicci's entrance...

He methodically walked down the stairs towards the center podium, and banged his gavel on the podium, not that it mattered the room was completely silenced...

"Many things have occured over the past few days, the past few hours. Things that this Union must be prepared for, or we face extinction. I know, that may seem melodramatic to many of you, but on that same note many of you have not been to war. War is hell, that statement has been the truth for centuries. The world is currently on the brink of a World War. And when I say World War I don't mean the Great War, who's battlefields were limited to central Asia, and central America. I don't even mean the recent Second World War, who's battlefield raged all accross the Western World. This war, the war the world is now in preparation for, is going to truly be a world war. Europe will not be spared, our past has created for us a death warrant that all nations, except our allies the Zulus, are more than prepared to cash in on. The wheels have begun to turn, and things are being set into motion, it is now time for the European Union to choose how it will play itself over the course of the next few months." he began shuffling through his briefcase and pulled out a thick-bound booklet "This in my hands is a peace offer given to us by the Union of Asian States and their leader Lord Dangime. In this book the UAS offers their colonial posessions in exchange for the province of Uralsky." there was a murmur of discussion over the entire assembly, he continued to speak "I, Prime Minister Enzo Pagniacci, refuse to sign this treaty. I refuse to allow my citizens, those that I was sworn to protect for the duration of my life on thi searth, to fall under the rule of such a nation. I have spoke candidly with many people, including our own allies the Zulus. They want us to sign peace, I say no, if the UAS wants peace they will return Uralsky. That is not the only thing this nation has to worry about, Australia has announced that any attack against the UAS will result in a strike by Australian troops. Well..." he said as he looked down at his podium "I am sorry to tell the troops in Australia that they may have to take a vacation to Europe, because we will continue to attack the Asians. We will not let up until our nation has been returned to its old state. So if the Australians wish to come and try and allow the Asians to enslave our people let them do so, we will fight them with every fiber of our being. We will never surrender, and we shall never perish from this Earth. Viva la Europa!!!"

                    Meanwhile, somewhere in Uralsky...

"Jesus Christ Franz, I can't believe this. Are you sure this is the right way?" asked Collins.

"Yeah I'm positive. Well, maybe not positive but I'm pretty sure." replied Franz.

"You gotta be f*ckin kidding me!" exclaimed Pablo. "You're pretty sure? You know we're gonna die here, you know that right?"

"Shut up Pablo, we've been going East, and he is right the camp was East of our position, but not this far East." said Collins as he took a look around. "Its getting pretty barren out here, it wasn't like this back the other way, you sure we're still in Uralsky?" he asked.

"What do you mean?" asked Franz.

"Well, the deserts are all in Khazakstan, which is FDP. Its starting to get really dry, maybe we're heading South-East?"

"Its a possibility Mick." said Franz.

"Alright well, here's what I suggest we do. If we keep going this way we're gonna run into some desert, so I think we should amend our trajectory North-East bound. This way we'll hit a road, or a refugee trail, or even a town, who knows." said Mick.

"Or maybe some f*ckin Asian camp, Jesus, we can't just wander around Uralsky, we're in a war." said Pablo as he threw his gun on the ground "I mean look, there's nothing around us, and its f*cking freezing and I'm starving out here."

"Okay, Pablo relax, we're not going to live if we don't think this through, its not Franz' fault that he lost the map, he didn't know we'd get lost like this." said Mick.

"Unbelievable, you're supposed to be the captain of our platoon and you're treating him like a f*cking little girl, repremand his ass Mick!!!" barked Pablo.

"He doesn't have to f*cking listen to me, look where we are, there's no ranks out here. And you're right, we're probably going to get picked up by some Asians and that'll be it, but that hasn't happened right now, so we might as well try and do what we've come to do. Now we gotta get back to camp and find DeNucci, get our orders and go back about our merry way. Grab your gun Pablo and let's go..."

                      Mossad HQ

"Abraham, look at these documents" said Rachel the Mossad Operative from Africa.

Her senior controller Abraham Disraeli took the papers she offered and studied them " Is this all reliable information?" he asked

"Yes" she replied " We have been studying the Mali people for many years now, reading the transmissions they make to us and then interpreting that agaisnt what their actions are. These documents present the final proof that most of their communications with us is lies."

"They are our allies Rachel, this is serious stuff!"

"I know sir" she had prepared her self for this for the past three months, she knew the proof would eventually arrive and now she had it , she had to get the High Command to see the blatantly obvious " But this document proves beyond doubt that the Mali are not our allies sir. Look at page 456 sir" she waited for him to turn there " you will see that during our war with the Zulu, we asked the Mali to inform us of any movements in Zululand, on 5th October you will see that we received word from them that ..'Zulu Marines are moving through Jungle'... We took action based on that information and that led to the destruction of Yemen when the REAL Zulu offensive landed via ship there. The Mali falsely reported Marines, later investigation discovered no Marines in that area, nor anywhere else in Zulu land. A direct lie!"

"Perhaps they didnt recognize a marine? Or maybe they said marine but meant Ralfitzers?"

"Sir are you on our side or theirs? This must go to the High Command and they must take action over this! The rest of the report shows how they promised to arm for military aid of the war with Adriatics of old but never did, they were meant to invade Spain but never did. They attacked one city in the Americas, they were meant to take them all!! Sir they have shown they dont want us, they historically hate us, they continue to teach in their schools of the dirtyness of Jews!! Over half our population are Jews sir!! Whilst the Arabs in our country may not be offended by that, I certainly am!"

"Well settle down Rachel, I will take this to the High Council and let them decide what action to take. This could mean the end of the FDP/Mali alliance. Just when the Westerners were getting closer together."

                      _________________________
                      Later in the High Council
                      ----------------------------------------

"Governors we have all read the tabled report from the Mossad. WE must decide what to do now! I suggest we need to broker a closer relationship with the EU but move away from the Mali. They have never shown us any respect , they hav enever made any attempt to quell the movement within their nation of anti semitism. We must inform the EU that we cannot enter into any Pact that allows Anti-Semitism to flourish. We applaud the way that the EU has driven the AntiSemites in Europe into the underground instead of flourishing as they once did. Whilst we beleive some EU parliamentarians may stil lbe AntiSemite we beleive they now know that the FDP is more than Jews. We hav emoved on and developed."

"So this Council now votes on Bill Number FDP #453-C...

                      The Bill Reading...

The FDP forewith sees no necessity to maintain a state of allaince with our neighbours the Mali. All Diplomatic Relaitons with them are hereby revoked. All Ambassaders will return to Egypt immediatly.

                      All those in favour?"

The final vote was 20-13 in favour with 2 abstentions and one missing.

The next Vote is for Bill Number FDP #454-A1....

                      The Bill Reading...

The FDP hereby authorises the Foriegn Affairs Department to Negotiate with the EU to Formalise a long standing treaty of peace and co-operation between our two countries. This may involve the forming of a Western Alliance for Mutual Aid.

                      All those in favour?"

The final vote was 17-15 in favour with 4 abstententions and one missing.

"What!!! The High council has agreed to disovle the Alliance ??" Screamed the Rheich Chancellor.

"Yes sir, as you see from the Minutes of the meeting , they have actioned it and are seeking closer relations with the EU."

"But that is ridiculous, the Mali have been good friends of ours for years now, and an allaince with the EU is out of the question whilst we still allied to the UAS... Dont these Governors know anything?"

"Apparently not sir, but they are determined to continue this way."

"I hope Sun Tzu doesnt act on their wishes, it could spell disater for us, send word to our friends in the Mali state department that this is not my doing, upon my imminent release all matters will be rectified. Damn that High Council, it is time to replace them!!"

"But you cant do that sir, they are democratically elected now. The people will be in uproar."

                          Eurnoews Special Report!

Lana Aguilera: We apologize for interrupting your regularly scheduled broadcast of Berlin Dragon Soccer. It has been announced earlier today that Enzo Pagniacci and Dangime of the Union of Asian States have finally agreed to terms of peace and the province of Uralsky will be returned in exchange for the last remain European holdings in Siberia.

Enzo Pagniacci: We are glad that the province of Uralsky is finally returned to European hands. We regretfully give up the northern ports of Siberia, but understand whole-hearetedly that Siberians are of Asian descent and should therefore be under Asian rule. The decision was not made lightly, but it was a wise decision.

Lana Aguilera: All Eurokorps soldiers will return home after a one-month reassessment of the areas. Thousands of soldiers and civilians are thought to be dead due to this tragic war however it has officially ended and peace reigns supreme in the European Union. Thank you for listening, as we return to the game where the Berlin Dragons are currently beating the Oslo Argonauts, 2 to 0...

                            MEMO

                            TO: Reich Chancellor
                            FROM: Reich Vice-Chancellor Ozzy
                            RE: Mali Alliance

As Chancellor Pro-Tem whilst you await resolution to your legal troubles I have acted on the decision by the High Council to terminate the Alliance with our Mali neighbors. I have informed Ms. Chaka that while the Council sought fit to cancel our alliance we have every intention to remain on a peaceful footing with the Mali nation.

I have also been sitting in on the International meeting regarding the formation of the Western Alliance. No formal agreements will be reached by the FDP since I am not authorized to make any agreement. However a full report and recording of the meeting will be made and advanced to the Reich Chancellor provided he recovers from his legal troubles. This report will be sent through more secure channels to prevent interception.

Domestically FDP is working on improving infrastructure and city improvements. This is proceeding according to schedule.

"What happened, I had personnally groomed him to take my place , this is outragous!! Who leades the FDP now??" yelled the Recih Marshall

                              "The Deputy Chancellor Ozzy"

"ahhh , old Ozzy, I thought he wasnt up for this role, he had been playing around in the Islands for so long. Hmmm interesting, but what of Sun Tzu?"

"The High Council has apparently shot him for treason after it was revealed he had ties with all other nations"

"Yes we knew that but we were desperate to maintain order, he received my personal instructions, i never even got to speak to Ozzy"

"Yes Sir, it appears that he is obeying the high council request to break alliance , but has done the right thing by your orders and maintaining peace."

"Oh ok that is good, we must maintain peace for the next few years as we rebuild. If the situation changes after I return then we must be ready, I hear rumours of war in Asia and America, even rumours of Chinese involvement."

"I believe VC Ozzy is performing well sir, the Engineering dept is working overtime 7 days a week, he has issued much infrastructure rebuilding."

"Good good, all is well then , I worried so much about Sun Tzu, he has bad blood in his line, it was his ancestors who caused the original strife between the Adriatics and us, dam nwhy didnt I think of promoting the Vice Chancellor"

"Sir many beleived the VC was insane and that his holidays in Cuba were permanent."

"Yes well I know he is not insane as some say, but I never knew he could rule so well, perhaps I should discuss this more with him when I return, with him ruling so well , I could go for a vacation myslef occasionalyy" he smiled" I hear the girls in Australia are very nice"

"Sir thats how you got into this prison in the first place"
