Hmph. Now how much of that is actually settled, as opposed to just claimed? The British already have two overseas colonies...

Josef of the Austrians, Boudicca has established one city already, another is 2 turns away, followeed by another 3 within a very short space of time.
        How much has Josef settled?
And how much is he claiming?
        Draw a map?
Boudicca invites you to a parley, maybe with the French and Romans who have a vested strategic interest in this land.
The French and Brits are allied so it makes sense for us to settle adjacent lands but I'm surprised that the Romans did not want some of this land?
Boudicca's secret plan to colonise Africa has long been known by them.

I'm about to establish my first city. I only want a small space, enough for about 4 cities. That area the British are claiming is large enough to fit 10 cities!

It's difficult for me to draw a map as yet as I'm not sure what area the Italians have already settled.

Since the english are being so unreasonable, it has been decided that africa and spain are now officially part of the turk empire. Any counter claims to to that land are hereby null and void. Any attempt to change this "fact" will be meet with the imperial turkish army.

His Majesty Franz Josef has composed a map of the Austro-Hungarian claim in Africa. Although the territorial claim appears significant, the terrain is so poor that the area can support at the very most four cities, as opposed to six cities for the British and Italian portions to the west and east (part of the Italian portion has been cut off from this map).

His Majesty Franz Josef pleases Queen Boudicca immensely...
The Austrian map is extremely reasonable.
Queen Boudicca had claimed Africa in the belief that other nations would not desire such poor land. Given the intention of the Italians and Austrians to settle Africa she is delighted to share it and offers a mutual co-operation pact to ensure security in these colonies.
Are the Italians happy with this map?

As for Leo's, well, the poor Brits have but one Wonder, whilst the Turks have three. This is more than anyone else. And by expressing an aggressive stance and threatening war on this matter is rather an encouragement to Boudicca to build Leos!

Boudicca calls on the world powers to take heed of the spoilt behaviour of the unstable Turkish leader..... LOL

Those are actually Markus' graphics. My terrain graphics are exactly the same as the originals except that I replaced the bison with a horse, since Europe doesn't have bison.

KING OZZY I PASSES AWAY, SON OZZY II ASCENDS TO THRONE.

In a ceremony full of pomp and paegentry Ozzy II was crowned King of France by Cardinal Richeleau last evening at St. Mary's church in Paris. In a move seen to be an overture to the new Christian majority in the nation King Ozzy II becomes the first monarch of France crowned in a Christian ceremony.

When asked for a comment King Ozzy told Le Figaro that "Since the arrival of Christianity and rapid conversion of the populus to this new religion it was only prudent to usher in the new age with an action to address the changing times."

Spokesmen for the Pagan Coalition condemned the action, calling King Ozzy a traitor to traditional French Pagan values.

Church officials responded declaring the Old Guard a bunch of hypocrites whose false belief in Pagan idolotry has misled the nation down a path of immorality and human desire. Vowing with the new alliance between Church and state to usher in a new liberal age of justice and morality in a declining state.

In King Ozzy's speech to the French nobles upon his corination he spoke of his Father and his vision of greatness. The new King pledged to allieviate the swelling French cities with new settlements in Switzerland, Espana and in the Rhone river valley. He vowed a period of expansion and continued growth for the emerging French people. Boasting reforms in science and building during his father's reign Ozzy II pledged to continue his father's reforms and "stride confidently along the path to greatness."

King Ozzy II's first official action was to deliver a speech at the ground breaking of the new Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Ambitiously described as a "testiment to French society, a monument that will one day be a symbol of the French, and will be a beacon of French culture and faith for centuries to come."

                              DEAL SECURES SWITZERLAND

The area known as Switzerland which was promised by treaty with the Germans came into question last month as expanding Austrians prepared to settle in this region. After some courteous negotiations this historic French land was assured to them after striking a deal with the Austrians agreeable to both sides.

PARIS DECLARED MOST POPULOUS CITY IN EUROPE

Reports from around the continent indicate that the French capitol city is the largest, most populous in the civilized world. Mayor Jean Tiberi proudly made the announcement to a gathered crowd in Paris this morning. Saying, "This title gives Paris a special place among the great cities of the world. While not as important an achievement as other great cities such as Adapazari's collection of amazing landmarks or even Budapest's finely painted chapel, this special honor is important for developing the character of the city." Also notes Tiberi, "this population distinction highlights further King Ozzy's expansion proposal, calling attention to the flood of people crowding Parisian streets and the need for further settlements."
