One of the posts - possibly one of the graphics - has buggered the width of the thread. You have to scroll sideways even to read the text posts.

There is a land in the north of ice and snow. Yet a light burns brightly in an old scientists cabin late as his birchwood fire still holds like a bastion of warmth amid the dark and cold.
All around is talk on the wind of dividing what is not owned, but really there is no one else, only us the Russ.
Discovery begins as a dream of what ISN'T but can be, only IF...and when once it IS, the builders then connect this to another dream of what could be only IF...

But is it NOT, if it is not yet known?
And of all that is, how much do we know?
What is, is, whether we know or not.

Nei, what we know is not all of what is, fund and support the scientists!! Thus it has been decreed in the land of the Russ. Keep the horsemen ready, for all that is, is not only knowing, and must be protected from the unknown.

Thus ends the brief but influencial thinking period in Russ history as it was then. Fishing and hunting remain high on the list of important matters, and yes of course the sun revloves around the earth. We know this.

Well, we're getting close to the 40th post, at which
time the thread will roll over to the 2nd page - it
            should be OK then.

I'm screwed guys! Everytime we had to reload I could not back out of the game and had to shut down and reboot. When I did this the last time I got a message saying my ICQ database was corrupted. I'll see if I can get this fixed tomorrow, sorry

OK, we're getting The Capo to sub for a couple turns. He should do a fine job. If anything is drastically wrong next time, we can just go back and play it over. If you object post here.

No, that should be fine, thanks. I think I lost my database somehow, I can't find it in the ICQ file. I may need to download ICQ and get a new number and database

Indeed, Capo did a tremendous job trying to charm and then scare me into giving him a port in Spain. Then stirring up trouble in the English Channel with the Brits. Some bantering about crushing the French because of a British threat?

Now we all know what happened to Cujo.....if only he'd had his rabies shots it never would have happened.

The Most Christian Sun King, Louis XIV of France, hopes that the upstart pretender of Germany has been ousted and replaced by its rightful ruler. Long live Beserker and may we resume the path we formerly tread. May your peoples never be mislead by mad dogs again!

As we approach 1AD the graph is really absurd.

Boudicca is at a loss to understand why the growth of the others is so slow?
Markus says he has crap land.
                            Hasn't anyone else celebrated yet?
Has Queen Boudicca gone too early?

Well, it's pretty obvious I'm in the midst of celebrating there. But the powergraph tends to lag behind events a little bit. By 100 or 150 things should look a bit different.

Message from Duke Frederick of Prussia to his Majesty King Berzerker....

                                My Lord,

I entered into negotiations with the French, I was aware that our great empire was not one of martime qualities, therefore I attempted to establish trade ports on the Mediterranian sea. However, the French, in their characteristic pomp and arrogance did not wish to even hear out my offer to the most Christian King Louis.

Further, a dispute arose with our brethren the British. I implore your highness to understand that I have done all that was in my power to serve his grace in his time of illness. T'was a very tough and menial task, however I believe I carried out numerous tasks that will be looked upon with grace by his majesty. Establishing trade routes with such nations as France, Britain and the Moslem King of the Turks. I had also comissioned Johan Sebastian Bach, one of Germany's finest composers, a Cathedral in Hamburg to entertain your bloodline for years to come.

My lord, the British are quite a violent and aggressive nation. I was quickly informed that we had, on loan, a ship from British harbours. As I was using this vessel to expand our maritime commerce with our British friends, the ship had happened upon a strange wind from the north and was unable to move from its position off of the British coast (there was a glitch that disabled me to move the ship), upon this ship was an envoy boasting the finest Copper in Germany. The British insisted that I return the ship despite these problems, after realizing that we would lose the Copper, I relented but decided that friendship with Britain was more important than a few hundred shillings. Therefore, I told the British that I would indeed return their ship despite the loss of his Majesty's riches. They quickly responded with a threat. Sire, I understand that peace and friendship is in your interests, however I saw quite expediciously that the British were not the understanding friends you had assumed, but were embroiled with greed and envy, as I realized Germany had no navy to teach the vile British a lesson in German manners, I soon felt the need to show them the error of their ways by declaring war upon the French, the allies of the British.

If it pleases his Majesty, I will provide a log of our negotiations with the British, as you can see I am not lying as the vile lords of Britain would have you believe.

I implore you, would you believe a fellow German or some Anglo?

Duke Frederick the Fifth of Prussia
                                ------------
Ming blows, I'll change this when I have some time on my hands.

                                Peace!

                                RIP Bradley James Nowell
