Carolus - if you click outside the kingchat window, on your main map window, the two windows will swap positions and you'll have kingchat open but in the background. Now you can play your game in peace, without having to click away the kingchat window each time it pops up.Comment

The only problem with putting King Chat in the background is that is is easy to forget that you have done so. Then legitimate questions get overlooked and people think you are being an ass. It's a good way to lose an ally, too.
