HELP. Ive only just updated my system to windows 2000 and reinstalled my beloved civ2 but the wonder moves dont work. is there an updated video reader for 2000 becouse the one that came with the disc doesnt work. It would be horible to have to go back to windows me
You need to hand install WinG from the Civ disc and ensure that you have the latest Indeo and WinG drivers on your machine - these are available from Microsoft and ? sorry I forget...
The ligos website seems to have removed a link to this file and want everybody to pay $$$ for the newer version, so hurry before this file disappears too, or try http://www.alltheweb.com's ftp search for a file of the same name if it's down already.
Big thanks to Cedric Greene for the link:
I read all the previous stuff, nothing really applied except deleting that wing file and downloading the drivers for indeo. I did both but netierh worked. My lock up is a bit different though... i can open up the map maker with ease. But when I open the program it simply gives me a white screen...
Edit: Right... make sure you type alltheweb.com with 2 l's, unless you're interested in porn.

You can simply burn your own Civ2 CD's. Make sure it's got a directory called "CIV2" which contains a file called "Civ2.exe" (just like the real Civ2 CD's). You can fill the rest of the CD with whichever music you like.
And I think if you have a no-CD crack, you can just stick in any (audio) CD and it'll play the music while civ'ing.
Civ is a very old game - as far as the music is concerned it will only look in the lowest lettered CD drive regardless of any information in the Civ.ini file - this may be your problem...
