Didn't want to be offensive. It was just a joke.
I'm really sure you'll come back to civ2. Or civ2 comes back to you. It's like a jo-jo.
Or better: It's like malaria.

In my answer to the question that was backed up with the "doitnow! smiley", I refer to my column from 27th Oct 01, The Civilization II Era and the debate thread about the actual column, c192# THE CIVILIZATION II ERA.
I still do firmly back those words in the article and debate about the grand old man (Civ II). Yes, indeed!
My very personal opinion is that Civ II is one of the most captivating, inspiring, innovative and entertaining games I've ever played. Most likely the 1# game for me.
Why did I type with bold inspiring? Yes, because it's actually one of the very few games that have actually had an effect on my real world life, outside the world of civing.
So if anyone dares to stand up against my opinion; the one shall be brought down, and very swiftly!
Long live, Civ! The king of strategy gaming!

I have CTP, I have SMAC, I even have Civ III
... but I always play Civ II in various manner (challenges, OCC, ICS...)
It's the most addictive game I ever play.
