I just wiped Civ2 off my hard drive and sent the disc to my sister. I've already been running and read a career book and had coffee at the local hangout.
Life is better without Civ. Now how do I delete Apolyton?
oh ya...let me see...joys like cutting the lawn or painting the fence.Watching Ally Mcbeal with the old lady
going to work/school...with no civ to think about and look forward to...???
There is no joy in Mudville without civ.Kinda like a microwave.Once you got it,you can't live without it.
The only thing that matters to me in a MP game is getting a good ally.Nothing else is as important.......Xin Yu
Would someone please get a doctor for this poor soul? he is obvioulsy suffering from some terrible disease... It's probably fatal. Does anyone have a straight jacket and padded cell available? Poor GP, the strain from waiting for civ3 is probably killing him.

get yourself banned,
ask someone to change your password,
change your own password to something like: lsdkhaolg
I really should be doing the same thing... Although wiping Civ2 off won´t be necessary since I hardly ever play it anyway (that reminds me... I have to play my part in the current ToT succession game). It´s Apolyton that creates the biggest problems. On nights like this I often spend hours on the OT, barely posting, just browsing, reading and waiting for others to reply to my few posts... sad.
I´d better spend the time I´m on Apolyton on Civ2 instead. I´d be a Deity by now (no, not the rank on Apolyton! The difficulty level.. ).

That reminds me... c'mon and play your turns, Merc! I'm suffering succession withdrawal symptoms...
On the thread topic, I find my Civving tends to come and go. Right now, I'm playing a lot more, but at times I just can't be bothered to play a game all the way through. These days, I tend to either get bored when it looks like a long, drawn out win, or restart when I'm getting clobbered on Deity/Emperor. Only occasionally do I play to the finish. Not like the old days when it was a matter of honour to finish off the AI

Apolyton is muych more the problem. I've tried bans before. They helped. But Marcos wouldn't give me an IP ban. I told him I'm using a work computer...so nobody else should be here either...
I'd be willing to change your password for you. that way no one else would infected with your lack of enthusiamism for civ2. failing that post your bosses email here so i can warn him/her to keep an eye on you
If you access Apolyton from work, can´t you get it filtered out or something.
Or are you smart enough with computers, and desperate enough, so that you would eventually circumvent the filter somehow anyway.
By the way STYOM, I finished my part. I would´ve posted it yesterday, but couldn´t because of the downtime.
GP, this all sounds like a cry for help. If you really wanted to quit, wouldn't it be much easier to fade away? Just stop coming around. I think you like it here. If so, keep coming back. We'll all be yammering about Civ III here shortly. Could suck you back in, so be warned.

"I played it [Civilization] for three months and then realised I hadn't done any work. In the end, I had to delete all the saved files and smash the CD." Iain Banks, author
GP, what are you doing here at all?
If you don't play civ, why not ask the computer technician at your job to block Apolyton from your computer?
You should look forward for hours of fun playing winmine
