  • Yes.....I am a newbie. :(

Hello. I hate doing this stuff....but I play Test of Time. And as some of you know, ToT doesn't have any maps which come with it(aside from the various games)

I'm looking for a World Map which will work for ToTs original game.

Anyone know where I can get one?

    oh...You can also E-mail me at RichyRland@Aol.com

    Thanks..
I dunno. I think nukes are cool..If you're the only one who has em.

This link How to create/edit maps in ToT in the Test of Time forum has a link to a map editor and, presumably, some maps...

ToT uses the same map format as all the other Civ2 versions, and the original game has exactly the same terrains as the earlier Civ2 versions... So you can download any map made for Civ2 and it will "work" for the ToT original game. Apart from the maps in the Apolyton database at http://apolyton.net/civ2/files/Maps I suggest you have a look at the map database at my Civ2 site at http://gene.wins.uva.nl/~jvermeir/civ2/database/maps
If you´re looking for an extremely large map of the world, here´s a good one:

If I Download Megamap, even though it says the requirements are MGE.....it'll work for ToT?

          Yep!

Civilization2 before MGE could only handle maps with a size of up to 10,922, after that (MGE and ToT) the max size increased to 32,767. That´s a bit more than the standard maximum of 10,000, eh?

Well first Im confused - Cause i have TOT and it came with about a dozen maps. 3 full globe maps (different sizes) a europe map, a north america map, an east US map, a mediterranean map and a map of japan (called Samurai map)

Are there different versions of TOT?

And yes, TOT can run maps made for earlier versions like MGE.

(It can also run scenarios for them, but thats not quite so easy)

Yes, mine came with maps too... I believe they added all maps that came with earlier versions of Civ2. Apart from that I think the Midgard scenario maps are also included as .MP files.

Newbie? Heck you registered only a short time after me!
actually I think this thread belongs in the ToT section of the site; but then again, no one visits that section
