Does anyone still actually play Civ II? It is really cute to think there are still some diehard fans plugging away out there. To me, Civ II is almost a retro game now, kind of like playing Donkey Kong original.
I have civ MGE on my computer too.... although i must admit civ2 origional is now on the shelf! I game 4-5 days a week when i possibly can but realistically am looking to lock up two nights a week with some other respected and talented civers... Ming Rah Bird Superstar and all the rest ..... Even those silly Aussies
We're waiting, war4 ... um, Ethnic Cl ... um, Barry Manilow ... um ... whomever you are, we're waiting, son! Come on down!

i always play civ2...with FW scenarios
there's a lot of good scenarios
Civ2 is an old VERY good Game
CTP is a more "recent" game but's not a good game.I sell it 6 months after i bought it
I must admit I do still enjoy playing the Mars senario. But it does get tiresome not being able to stack production orders.
I also bought Test Of Time, but was pretty dissapointed. My main gripe is that the multi-leveling tends to get very tedious, and I sincerely hope it isn't implemented in Civ III.
Does anyone still play Civ2?!? OF COURSE! That is the one, and only game that is guaranteed permanent residence on my hard drive. It's something that you can keep going back to - absolutely the best game ever.
In my house there's this light switch that doesn't do anything. Every so often I would flick it on and off just to check. Yesterday, I got a call from a woman in Germany. She said, "cut it out!"
Of course~!... Got the scenarios (conflicts in civ) and FW loaded on top ... but hey its still Civ II. Havent tried either CtP or ToT yet but may in the future. It sounded like from the reviews of CtP that that version addressed some of the more tedious aspects of the game (I tend to build massive amounts of cities - sometimes over 100 - which makes city management ultra tedious - heck one game can last a month)
So the short answer is again... Civ II stays on the hard drive... maybe for a very long time.
