  • June 1941 Save Thread

It's June 1941 and tensions are mounting along the Soviet-German border... Are the
Germans about to break the Molotov-Ribbentrop non-aggression pact signed in 1939?
You, Josef Stalin, the Commander-in-Chief of the Red Army and sole ruler of the Soviet
Union are about to face a tremendous challenge...
    ^
^OBJECT: The Germans (AI-controlled protagonists) must capture and hold on to target
cities in the USSR to win.
Soviets must resist the advance of the Wehrmacht and counterattack to ultimately
regain the lost territory. Finally they must carry the war to Germany and capture
a number of the Nazi invader's cities.
    ^
^STRATEGY: The game is designed for play from the Soviet side only.
Playing Germany is much too easy and will not make for a challenging game.
Playing Sweden or Finland is not recommended as they have virtually no impact on
the outcome of the game and are included only for historical accuracy.
The United States are not active for the first 6 seasons and are unplayable.
Romania is not represented as an independent nation but Romanian troops do
enter the game under German command.
    ^
    ^^SPECIAL NOTES
^Technologies cannot be acquired by conquest or exchange.
^Negotiations are limited along historical guidelines.
    ^Government switching is disabled.
    TURN REPORT AND EVENT POPUPS
    germans develop barbarossa!
germans develop advanced flight II (JU-88 Bomber)

The advancing Germans ovverrun a refugee convoy heading east.. Many civilaina are brutally killed by the german troops. Some are forced unto freight trains and sent to poland and germany to serve as slave labor in the german industry some escape and join partisan units in the pripyat marshes...

German Wehrmacht SG overwhelms the garrison of Bialystok! 91,000 rubles plundered

The sight of Russian cavalry being mowed down by German Panzers and divebombers shows the incredible disparity between the modern German "War machine" and the antiquated Red Army. The Soviets, though superior in numbers, have mostly outdated equipment and follow obsolete tactics. They are led by useless generals appointed for their political views and not their military skills. Only two suprises await the Germans: The T-34 tanks, better than any german armor will first see action at smolensk and a secret weapon nicknamed "Little Kate" or Katyusha", which will strike panic in German and Soviet Soldiers alike when it is first used.

The communist Security Police forces, the NKVD, known for their fanatism and loyalty to Josef Stalin, join the Red Army to resist the Germans at Brest-Litovsk... These forces "motivate" their Red Army Comrades by executing desrters and shooting anyone who tries to surrender...

germans capture Kauna. 72,000 rubles plundered
germans capture brest-litovsk 96,000 rubles plundered
    germans capture vilnius
    germans capture kishinev
Partisans in the marshes are given to the Belerussian Front

Front commanders don't have muchto do this turn except setting production in their cities.

the armaments minister has his work cut out for him changing all the cities production that is not under the front commanders rule.

No disbanding of units is allowed remember.
And don't forget to sign out the save file!!!

    Comrade Pavlov

Takes his turn at organising the armies under his command. (file signed out until I post it again here)

I'm assuming we cannot move any units except partisans this turn ie build queue's only.

        Comrade Pavlov completes his turn

Set build queu'es for my cities and moved a couple of Partisans.

Would love to move other units but H tower can you clarify this ASAP.

I think we all are going to find this a tough game as most of us wouldn't have played it with all the rules we set.

what other units are there to move? I thought they were all given no movement points?

EDIT: After looking through the thread that discusses the phantom turn, the prevailing opinion, a compromise was to use the phantom turn only for changing build queues, adjust science rate and move newly created units only. So we'll stick with that. think of it as a challenge

The only units you can move in the phantom turn are those units newly created by events i.e. partisans. at least I thought so....

One Red Army unit for each city disbanded. One unit moved to the rear. Many encircled infantry units ear Vilnius are moved into a fortress to try and tie down the Germans. It seems as though all my cities are in danger of falling. Could this front be given more cities under its jurisdiction? The minister that controls Demyansk and Kalinin: I ask that you ready these cities with a sufficient amount of forces to hold them.

Anzac I don't think you are allowed to move units this turn

                    only the partisan units!

You may need to play your turn again as i too would love to activate units to move them but its not allowed.

                            Production orders given.

Request permission to rush buy the AA being built in either Luga or Novgorod (Novgorod would be cheaper).
