  • Next Tech

    This one is easy. Our next tech choice is between Magnetism and Explosives. We need them both, and we shall get them both. But which should be first?

    Magnetism -- Makes Frigates and Galleons available, and will instantly upgrade our current fleet to Galleons. This is cool because Galleons do not cause unhappiness when they're away from home. More happiness = more celebration = growth = workers = arrows = techs = Alpha Centauri.

    Explosives -- Instant upgrade of all Settlers to Engineer. Build faster, move double, can radically alter terrain, etc. By changing our land to meet our needs, we will get faster camel transport, more resources per tile worked = arrows = techs = Alpha Centauri.

    Previous polls suggest we will be going for these two, then Railroad. After that, we'll look at the results of the other tech poll.

    I take it that the poll option should be Magnetism and not Metallurgy?

            I want magnetism next, why is it not in the poll ?

              I'm assuming you meant Magnetism, so my vote for "Metallurgy" means Magnetism.

              Since Magnetism and Explosives are clearly the best next 2 choices, the question is "Is one best to get first?". Magnetism will get us Galleons and all Caravels will upgrade to them. That would solve the unhappiness problem we are having in many cities due to the Caravels at sea, and we could lower our Luxury rate a bit and move our Science rate up. Therefore, we would get both faster by getting Magnetism first.

                    I have sent a PM to Ming to request the needed change. Whether that happens or not,

                    ALL VOTES FOR THE 2ND CHOICE WILL BE COUNTED AS "MAGNETISM."
