Discussed in previous C2DG. (I made up the part about the runoff being 3 days.)

All this is IIRC, so speak up if you feel otherwise. I do think it's important to know what we'll do before any "situation" occurs, and thus my post.

If we go with the plurality rule, we're inevitably going to have a repoll which isn't necessary. Of course, in the case of a tie, we would, but otherwise.

If any of my opponents finish with any majority, I'll concede defeat - there's no need to complicate things.

One thing I can promise is that, regardless of the result here - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, I will accept the result gracefully, and not resort to sniping at my fellow candidates.

It's no secret that I've had a tough time as City Planner last term - it's an area of Civ I didn't have much knowledge of (as I realised not that long ago), and though I tried to get discussion going on the subjects, when you don't have the knowledge of the area, it makes it difficult. Running for City Planner was a mistake, which I've acknowledged in a couple of threads already.

President, on the other hand, is a place I do have the experience. I have a term as Commissioner of the SMAC demo game behind me, and I also served under John as Vice-President. I know this is a job I can do, do well, and do gracefully. I hope the voters will have confidence that I can lead them through these challenging times and into a republic.

Uhhh... If any of your opponents gets a majority, the only mathematical possibility is conceding defeat.

This is a democracy game, and it seems basic that the MAJORITY should rule. No majority, no ruler.

i think he means if one of his opponents recieves more votes than him, he'll concede, even if his opponent does not recieve at least 50% of the votes. Unlike a certain US presidential election

Cave bear you make an excellent pres, you devotion to the people and your skill in the game have been proven time and time again.

Heyday, what can i say you have a style all your own and it works to your advantage. I think your leadership has done many great things and will continually benefit this game thru out.

Haveing said that I now vote for........
Darkness' Edge. I think he has the skill and the knowledge to lead us in the right direction, He needs the chance to prove it to us all. In this way all can benefit from the "fresh ideas" of a new candidate while we still have the wise direction of two great leaders. (voteing and polling as citizens or members of the cabinet of course )

Just for electoral clarity (there are advantages having a Government & Politics degree)...

Plurality is simply having the most votes among 3 or more candidates. Majority is having more than 50% of the votes regardless of the number of candidates.

                                Hydey checks the polls

Atleast I will not have to check the democracy game threads now I know the people do not want me to be involved.
