Babar is good. I'd say Sodaq, after our fine military commander, but we already have one with that name...The first President of the first Apolyton Democracy Game (CivII, that is)

seems like many see the name Babar fit this city--> so will it be(unless an enormous opposition gives a beter name)

This city is between Babylonians and Indians.
On a geographical point of view, between Babylon and India, there is Iranians or Perians : why not Persepolis (better than Teheran).
But an elephant name is nice. As Babar is a character name, we may choice Babarville, Babarcity or Babartown.JCP

It can't be called Elephantine.
It was originally called Ellepi.
How about... Elephi?
Your humble Historian does suggest that we develop a list of future city names so that those who aided our great and inevitable expansion -- Presidents, Ministers, animals, citizens, etc. -- will be properly remembered.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

I think the idea of naming this city after our fallen Elephant is a good one. There will soon be new or conquored cities to name after our Leaders (and I fully agree with the idea). But let this one be for the Elephant:
