This city is between Babylonians and Indians.
On a geographical point of view, between Babylon and India, there is Iranians or Perians : why not Persepolis (better than Teheran).
But an elephant name is nice. As Babar is a character name, we may choice Babarville, Babarcity or Babartown.

It was originally called Ellepi.

Your humble Historian does suggest that we develop a list of future city names so that those who aided our great and inevitable expansion -- Presidents, Ministers, animals, citizens, etc. -- will be properly remembered.

I think the idea of naming this city after our fallen Elephant is a good one. There will soon be new or conquored cities to name after our Leaders (and I fully agree with the idea). But let this one be for the Elephant:
