My most humble apologies for holding on to the old warriors unit. I had the impression from the last discussion no that topic that we would hold on to them for some defense against an AI invasion, and to escort the settlers when we were ready to land on other shores. IMO the use of the settlers is the biggest waste, although it IS a NON I personally would prefer a size 8 city and the extra 3 beakers, or three shields if set to work the mines.

Are there going to be any polls by Ministers or anything for Citizens to respond to?

Not from Science. We met the first target (Trade), and should now be going for navigation, so we can escape this god-forsaken rock.

What?! And make the people think they have power round here?!

Hold on.. if they think that they do.. we can control them! A cunning plan!

          I'll make a poll

I have some questions that i will put together and post in the morning for polls.

I would like to see the ministers create some polls, even if its just a yes or no poll. This game feels a little like a one sided succession game and I am eager for some community participation. I think that other citizens are as well.

I agree. I don't think this game is working very well.

Its obvious that there is a lack of interest due to the slowness of the game. Whoever made up this rule that we can't leave our island until what-ever-date-it-is should be strung up by his or hers ankles and repeatedly beaten with a banana skin.

I, for one, don't find it very interesting, just living in one city in the middle of an ocean.

I SAY WE CHANGE THIS RULE AND PUT ALL OUR EFFORT INTO FINDING NEW LANDS!! We should just go straight for navigation! Its about time our people were allowed to grow and thrive....!

given the lateness of the year, i would venture that we are doing exactly that. and unless one of those passing ships decides to stop by and say hi (and trade techs), we are will still be on our island by 1040 AD. by getting construction, we can build the aquaduct (grow past 8) and the colosseum (celebrate past 7) so that we can actually gain the needed technology anytime soon. we need 2 techs for seafaring (any realistic chance of our triremes not sinking) and 5 for navigation. with our self-imposed goal only 11 turns away, and research currently taking about 8 turns per tech (7 xin, 9 non-xin), i'd say rushing the colosseum and then aquaduct would appear to be paramount along with disbanding what military we have judiciously to expedite that.

I don't mind the year restriction of founding a 2nd city. The whole point of that was to make things difficult for ourselves. And we did agree to that, so we shouldn't change it.

I just mean that the change from full democracy (for the citizens) from the start to leadership in the style of the game government seems to have taken away a lot of participation. Having someone serve as Despot at the start (even though that was me) did not serve us well.

I vote against changing any rules ... but I don't mind if our current leadership plays a bit more frequently.
