If you have to ask, then the name probably doesn't mean much.
It's Gustav Mahler (1860-1911) Austrian composer and conductor, perecuted in Vienna by antisemites, went to New York, His wife left him for Walter Gropius (founder of the Bauhaus) and his children died too. Wrote 9 symphonies, various songs etc, is considered the father of modern music. Blah.
I think he's great.
