those sig's are to good to ever be removed , read Mark's sig , how else can one express himself as an individual , how else can Firaxis be told of things , .....etc , ....

This may be some surprise to most, but most MBs are removing sigs because of people using them for commerical reasons.

Apolyton is the only forum out there that I know of that has all the functional, enjoyable features.

Most forums don't even let you quote a reply, and usualy don't tell you which forum you posted in or who last posted.

Almost all don't let you upload avatars on THEIR servers, or don't have any at all.

And the real kick in the un-gas, is that there are quit a few that use somthing similar to a folder tree. You can't view the entire thread, just post by post by clicking on each and every friggin title in the tree. I send many PMs to the admins that run those types of forums and usualy get "insta-kicked".

So I'd hate to see Markos and Dan start rolling back features, because I would most likely start hunting for another MB.

Express as an individualy... what about your sidebar Location thread? Or Flag? or Avatar?

We have myriad options. We may as well reduce bandwith where we will, while still having fun posting!

i'd suggest that sigs be shown in the user profile if this change were made to prevent (potentially) lengthy searches for long posts

With all-else equal, I would prefer to keep sigs around regardless of the length of other people's posts. I could see a use for this on other sites that have image signatures, but here the sigs are actually interesting and add to the site as a whole.

I don't think the sigs are that intrusive at 'Poly.......but if they do go (perhaps only for short posts) putting them in the profile seems reasonable.
