  • Mac CivGroup?

This isn't a moment for Asher or anybody else I've debated the pros and cons of Macs with this is an actual plea...

If one of us Mac fans can get a hold of the Classic OS 9.2 (and lower) startup smiley, what is the size needed for us to submit it to form a CivGroup for Mac users?

We have Mac forums, and with as small of a crowd as that is, some don't even realize there are Mac forums... so this would be a way to encourage visitors to those areas.

Anyway, this is my initial question for go-ahead in hunting out a .jpg or .gif with the needed size restraints for a CivGroup symbol.

    Here's hoping I get it...

A small hint: 15x19 GIF images are used for Civgroup icons.

Aren't the Mac versions of all/most games covered here compatible with the Windows versions (as far as multiplaying goes at least)?
If so, then what's the actual point of such a Mac CivGroup?

(I'd rather see a separate Civ2:ToT CivGroup seeing as that isn't compatible with MGE and the like... hint hint ... Then again, I don't even multiplay (yet), so I don't know why I even bother )

I'd proudly display a Mac CivGroup icon. Of course, I'd have to start playing MP first.

Many thanks for the support Gatekeeper...

Same to Rasbelin, hopefully tonight I'll get around to some screencapturing under OS X.2.2 and then some sizing to see what can be created.

                  Many thanks MarkG

I've come up with a couple ideas, so whichever one works better after I reduced it I'll post here.

Hopefully I'll have time tonight to make them.

                  Again, many, many thanks MarkG!

                  EDIT:

Here is the second of the two possible MacCivGroup icons...

                  EDIT:

I can't add an attachment here...

                    I've made two possible icons...

Here's this one, and I'll edit my above post to add the second one.

EDIT: Posting another new post... can't edit in an attachment...

                        FlameFlash:

Heh. Some guy over at the MacCentral forums has a cool icon — AppleCorps or something like that. It basically shows the Apple icon with a lightning bolt through it or something. But I think it might be his group's own symbol ... but if you could do something like that, it'd rock.

How big was that symbol though? Part of the problem is pulling off a decent symbol where you know everybody will understand and yet also fit it into the size constraints.

And it looks like my second one didn't load... I'll repost it tonight if it doesn't show up yet.

                            FlameFlash:

Hmm ... I'd say it's at least four times the size of the icons you've posted thus far, so it might not be usable. But it remains cool nonetheless.
