          UPDATE

We have enabled ads from our provider again, after being assured by them that the advertiser(which as i guessed had changed the advertised link from the aprroved) has been removed by their network.

Please let us know if this or a similar problem comes up again

It's already back. Guess this advertiser can't be trusted.

New screenshot (looks a lot like the old):

When I uninstalled it from my wife's machine by Xupiter's own uninstall link, it trashed the registry. The "Ad Aware" ad washer (updated to the Sept? or Oct/ 2002 version, the June02 version will not do Xupiter or Hunt bar)) program from lavasoft.de will safely remove it.

OK I cannot access my computer. And using my start menu I cannot access the control panel.

I need to back up my files onto my second hard drive. Any ideas how to do that without being able to transfer files with my computer?

I need to transfer many files to my D drive. I know I can do that with DOS. And I had to do that after my hard drive got corrupted before. But I can't remember exactly how to do that. It looks like DOS is my only hope of saving my files.

                        Dissident,

The DOS command "XCOPY -S C:\WINDOWS D:\CWINDOWS" will copy the windows directory and all of its subdirectories to the D drive. Or you could do "CD C:\" and then "XCOPY -S C: d:\CBACKUP" to copy the entire C drive to the D drive (assuming you have enough space).

Just to reinstall Windows over the old installation may help too. When installing Windows without reformatting the hard drive, it doesn't delete any of your presonal files. Unless you have hidden your porn in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32, that is .

I generally can't imagine how this dialer can screw up a system that badly. It usually changes only your default internet connection to a premium service dialin, which can't hurt you, because it works only in Germany.

beyond that, if we have any detailed reports showing that an ad shown from a company that we cooperate with, we will act upon them instantly
