I'd like to see it changed to YYYYMMDD.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

      What do you know:

"Let users choose their own date and time format" hack

it's really very very easy to install.

Give us this and everyone will be happy. I could finally get rid of that damn 24-hour clock and crazy date format.

I second Ixy's proposal. Very good idea, indeed.

            Actually....

When I asked about the logicality of the mm-dd-yy format used by the Americans, in fact I ate the ground beneath me. Americans aren't logical in anything, so why they should be logical in this matter. just kidding

BTW, in finnish we can allways say (in finnish of course - these are only translations) '12th of October', 'October the 12th' and '12th of 10th'.
The last version 12th of 10th is not used in english (I believe), and thus it may be more difficult to the english speaking population to have difficulties with this current date format. We finns feel quite comfortable with it, though..
I'm not a complete idiot: some parts are still missing.

It is, usually when organising events and giving a date for diary. You speak it how you would write it in this case.

              "What date is the party?"
              "3rd of the 5th".

Yes, now that you've got this Civgroups thing and the avatar fix out of the way, I'm sure you've got plenty of free time to implement this!

Dammit! Give us the ability to use the date display selection provided by the PHP language. It's supported by most free or open source BBS sotwares too, so why couldn't Poly implement it too?

Hey guuys - chill, give Markos a break. Contrary to appearance he probably does have a life outside the forums.
