what kind of pop-ups?

I switched to ultra special and still get popups whenever I right-click to "open in new window."

I'm also getting what appear to be pop-unders (seen only when I close my browser window). These are MUCH easier to take than popups IMHO -- and good for advertisers, too, since the content is viewed before clicking off.

Very please to NOT see Hit The Target and Have A Seizure (flashing) banners this a.m. These are more obnoxious than popups (since you can't get rid of them).

hold on, you're using an ultra special style and see 468x60 banners in the forums?
if that's the case, you need to re-set your style settings from the options page

Using the default style and surfing from a non US country I've gotten 4 popups in the last 6 pages I visited on these forums.

As mentioned in the press release on this subject and in other instances in this forum, the country check for the ads is not perfect.

That said, can you provide more details at to the nature of these pop-ups and where you are getting them? If the forums, what is your style setting?

you can change to a special style for a more controlled number of pop-ups(if you think there are too many)

hm... the ultra-special thread business does wonders for the click finger precisely because i don't have to run around closing all those frikkin' popups.

and the other ones actually just referred to the default, where that accuquote ones were just getting annoying. so, out of curiosity, why are we with that ad group? and would it be difficult to switch ad companies and what not?

the accuquote banners are part of an agreement we just got into. it would be too early to start thinking about changing now

are you absolutely sure? ah, well. i'll stick to this ultra-special style, it's quite wonderful... no banners unless i make a foray into the news part of the site... which i never go into anyway...
