this is what happens when you ask for something reasonable and with actual value to other visitors in a polite, argumentative, non-doitnow wayCo-Founder, Apolyton Civilization Site

Markos, there's a little problem with it. When I do it with return to forum, on the forum index that thread shows as having new posts (formally I haven't read my own), but it shouldn't. Any keyboard shortcut to this button? I'm used to Alt+s now...Solver, WePlayCiv Co-Administrator

Ok, now we're on new ideas,
on the forum I created, posts you didn't read yet have another color. (in the thread itself, not in the forum)
Could you build something like that?
On my board I created a division as well that contains the names of the people who read a post.
Normally the division is hidden, but when you click on it, it will show up with a list of people who read the post (so far)
The picture is a screenshot.
(I'm sorry that it's all dutch, but you'll get the picture)
1. (gelezen door) is the link that will make the list appear. (gelezen door = read by)
2. (gelezen door) right here you can see the list is showed. (3 names are below it)
3. this is a post I read already
4. this is a 'new' post (with a different color)
the next time I visit this thread, the color of the bottom post will be gray as well.
what do you think? Or am I asking too much ?Formerly known as "CyberShy"
