I think we should have it, just so Ron Jeremy can mess with the minds of whoever hovers the cursor over his avatar.

I support that original suggestion.
Descriptions for custom avatars wouldn't be bad at all. More advertising space available to sell to my sponsors.
aaglo, are you trying to be somekind of anti-spam watchdog?

BTW, I feel now more supportive than before for those descriptions after recently starting to use my new custom avatar. It really needs it."Kids, don't listen to uncle Solver unless you want your parents to spank you." - Solver

yeah! good ideaOriginally posted by MattyBoy
When I see somebody's flag and think "what is that?" I just have to hold the cursor over it to see the name of the country.
Why not have the same thing with custom avatars? Each profile could include an editable field of up to 25 chars to provide a description.

but why limit it only to custom avatars?
and why only 25 characters? My Words Are Backed With Bad Attitude And VETERAN KNIGHTS!

Just don't put it into the Light stylesheet.
I think it is a great idea!Grrr | Pieter Lootsma | Hamilton, NZ | grrr@orcon.net.nz

The W3C standard specifies title as the tooltip text. I don't know if it works in IE, but alt doesn't work in Opera and that's all that matters.PHP Code:<img src="$avatarurl" border="0" title="Postcount:  $post[posts]">

I was suggesting it to limit to 25 chars and only be for custom so that the loading would not be much slower. What's the point in knowing what the non-custom avatars are?
I figure that an average of perhaps 10-15 extra chars per post would have a trivial load time compared to the avatars themselves."I'm so happy I could go and drive a car crash!"
