    Health bar (where you can get healthy drinks) and adm-points (indicating the time spent on 'pulco)
    I'm not a complete idiot: some parts are still missing.

      The pages with these stats on them today have loaded slower than other Apolyton pages. Is this something we are going to see more of? I do not want this pointless addition to hurt load times.

      Is there going to be the option to turn this off?

        Health bar indicates progress through the Title levels, attack is your post count /10 or similar, defense is days since registration and movement is posts per day. Makes sense, and is more "Civ"

            Okay,
            I 429 days => MPmax = 4113
            MarkG 1416 days => MPmax = 20078
            Ming 1416 days => MPmax = 21078

            This gives up the theory that only tyhe days are used for that one.

            Now I have to chack the posts as well.

            Me: 4281 (9.98/day)
            MarkG: 13753 (9.71/day)
            Ming: 16070 (11.35/day)

            Me: MP 1427 (34.7%)
            MarkG: MP 4584 (22.8%)
            Ming: MP 5356 (25.41%)

            Still no connenction. Markos, cant you add the Stats to the memberlists, and I'll be able to grab a few posters and chack easier then now.

              Since it seems I will never catch up with the last post, I'll say what I want to say now:
              A) this has got to be the coolest post-count feature of all the forums I have ever visited.
              B) MarkG, could you at lest tell us what MP, HP, And Exp depend on? And is the obvious true? Is Exp just partial level, and level/exp based on postcount?

                  I don't know if it's a coincidence, but this feature appears to be overloading the database and slowing everything down a lot.

                  And trust me, I want to know the maths.

                      Is this just a new toy?

                      I must admit that the pages have been loading slower since this is added. I can think of two reasons for this.

                      1. The new stats themselves are slowing it down.

                      2. Since you added this FEATURE, interest in post counts has gone up and people are posting more placing a higher burden on the server. (no doubt part of you ultra top secret plan.

                      I would bet a combo of the two.

                        Is there some way to turn these features off?

                          HP = HIT POINTS
                          MP = MAGIC POINTS

                          From all D&D style games.
                          HP is the number of damage points you have and can lose before you DIE

                          MP = the number of spell points you have. Each magic spell expends 'x' number of points. Once you are at 0, you can't throw any more magic spells.

                            Juggernauut, MarkG said it's only on the light-special style set. Changing style set should remove the stats. And for those wondering, MP commonly stands for Magic or Mana Points, while HP commonly is Health or Hit Points

                              I'd go for attack as 2*log post count, that way you reach chieftain at 2, warlord at 3(ish) and so forth. Gives Ming an attack of 8.4 - unfortunately it's been so long since I played Civ2 I can't remember what units are around that number.

                                Yeah, it was just a basis, the actual calculation of the figures would need changing if it's going to reflect Civ units.
                                PC per day would work as movement, rounded to the nearest 1 or 0.5. Most people don't post more than 3 or 4 times a day overall.
                                I like JBtW's idea for attack, defense could be similar but with days registered, rather than posts, making the movement some sort of complex ration between them.
                                Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?
