Just made Prince, so I'm looking quite far forward here (another four months, at my rate <<sigh>>), but is there some kind of size limit to your custom Av? And how in Sheol do you get them to move, like Skanky's?

Or does that sort of thing just come from being King+?

The limit on avatars is 80x80 pixels. I am sure there is a size limit too, but I have never come close to it... never a problem. To get them to move like Skany's, they just need to be an animated *.gif image.

Yeah, any moving avatars are just animated gifs.
I got mine from Civ 3 (the fan-site pack) but had to edit them heavily to get them small enough.

Theres a tutorial on making unit animations here by Dark Sheer, so maybe that will help you to make your own moving avatars
