I played the EE demo and it was enough to persuade me that the game was nothing like anything I would want to play. The appalling pathing, the inability for units to stay in formation, the paper-scissors-stone units that meant archers could kill infantry in hand to hand combat and the playdough graphics were all instant turn-offs. So I did.
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

You know what? Without meaning to, you have hit the nail on the head ... I loathe EE because of the paper-rock-scissors aspect. I HATED IT!

I spent my time pausing the game to dig out the manual and double check what should be fighting what. Naturally, with a RTS, combat ended up as a mass brawl of billions of troops and figuring out the correct formula was one huge pain in the ass.

JEEZ ... now you mention it, I'm getting all aggravated all over again.
Orange and Tangerine Juice. More mellow than an orange, more orangy than a tangerine. It's alot like me, but without all the pulp.

Lots of things wrong with EE but I liked the PRS as it has been called.

The fact is you should not attack cannon with cavalry but you can destroy the cannon with sufficient cavalry.

sorry, it's just that I had such high expectations for Yin.

I thought I was seeing the real Yin in his "faces" interview.

but now he's sort of become an untested beta version/Horse clone of himself.

          Maybe when he get's patched.....

I was just about to point out that Horsie is simply making excuses in advance for why he will suck at Civ III...

Perhaps, yin feels that Firaxis should rise above the level of Activision and not insult the Civ community with its releases.
