yeah. never seen anything like that on the web?

I think it makes more sense than just choosing as many options as you want... there will be many very clever people who vote for all options instead of not voting at all, thus skewing the percentages

Yes... But it´s nice to have a good discussion without it turning into a blazing flame-war, as seems to be happening with every discussion on the OT these days.

The way I see it is that if it's not too difficult to implement then nothing is lost by allowing for multiple-selection polls. I mean, figure that a poll right now takes about 5 seconds to create (this is the "administrative" time that it takes, i.e. how long it takes to click the "yes I want a poll" box and type in the number of choices you want on the poll). If multiple-selection polls are allowed BUT the current single-selection poll type is kept as the default, then creating a poll will continue to take about 5 seconds. Creating a multiple-selection poll might take, I don't know, 5 minutes (worst case scenario); however, not every poll has to be multiple-selection (none of them have to be multiple selection ), so the 5 minute administrative cost (realistically more like 1 minute or 30 seconds) will not be exacted every time somebody starts a poll but only on the few occasions that a multiple-selection poll is appropriate. Point is that nothing is lost, since the administrative cost for a single-selection poll would remain the same.

Well having an English keyboard it is very difficult for me to produce these 'interesting characters' although I do have access to the € without too much of a problem. I have to use character map or memorise the keystrokes to use other characters.

Excuse me, but I have just realised that this is a threadjack.

The polls are fine, it would be nice to have some other things attached, like 'select x options' but not totally necessary
