I still think we should either abolish the post counts, or reinstall it in the OTF. This way either the main cause of spam is removed, or at least spam is localised in one area.

Now it's just spreading all over the place, just like cancer

      Ming, Mao, take a bow

I think "Spammer" should be the next level.

      Let's call a spade a spade.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Well I propose that everyone registered in Jan 1970 (when are they going to fix that anyway?) should recieve the title "the elder" or "ancient one", although "old fart" wouldn't be bad either.

these title debates surely are entertaining

Provost, and why not? It's not like I'm proposing to abandon the settler to deity titles...

Because I am more worthy despite only registering in 2000

I have come across some Jan 1970s who have had next to no posts and spent no time here...yet they pop up yet would still be considered 'veterans' and be appropriately titled for it. Seems a bit pointless. Contributions to the site and the community yes, but not sheer duration...some people have contributed more in 3 months than some have in 3 years...

I love practising my reasoning and literary skills

"Contribution" what does that really constitute?

The veteran posters here are the living memory of the community and they preserve our rich heritage and our numerous traditions, which is a contribution way beyond that of any spammer and should be recognised accordingly.

How about an "elder" adjective before the current titles? Elder King, for instance.

                              Elderberries

and Elder Settlers? sounds a little strange.

Blah, blah, blah. Are the elitists powering up again so no 'newbie' such as even myself should get a look in. Oh what a surprise, you have a Jan 1970 after your title.

I know the score around here, I know who is who, better than most 1970s and I have made my mark on the Apolyton forums, both off- and on-topic. I should, hypothetically, be just as eligable for the 'elder' title.

Or what about MLeonard or MichaeltheGreat, both registered in the latter part of 1999, who can most certainly be described as significant members of the community, a damn sight more than many Jan 1970s. So no, this would not be a sensible move, and I am sure the admins/mods would agree with me. Each case should be judged on it's merits.
