  • Europa Universalis Forum?

    www.europa-universalis.com

As you've probably noticed there have been a lot of activity on the various EU threads. I was wondering if perhaps a forum for it under the "Alt. Civs/Other Civs" heading could be started.

It definetly is an Alternate Civ when you look at it. It is basically what some of us have asked for Civ. A certain time period with heavily detailed trade and diplomacy.

    Just a suggestion...
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I agree. Sadly I myself can't play the game yet since the mac version isn't ready for use yet.

Good idea Imran. From what I've heard of this game I'll be spending a heck of alot of time playing it.

When does it hit the US btw? Anyone know?

Why bother asking for one here when you can just come to CGN and post in the Europa Universalis forum that's already there?

Well, the game isn't out yet (though I have it preordered!), but I'd have to agree, an EU forum would be nice. But since there's a forum over at Europa-Universalis.com which is much more frequently traveled than, say, reismark's CGN link, I wouldn't call it a neccesitiy (since most likely I would post at the "real" EU forum first).
            All syllogisms have three parts.
Therefore this is not a syllogism.

There are no plans to add a Europa Universalis forum to the Apolyton lineup of forums at this time now or in the near future.

If Apolyton's theme is on Civ-like games, why not have a Europa Universalis (EU) section?
If the company developing EU has a forum for its own game, Apolyton can have a link to there. Up to this moment, I treat Apolyton as a portal to all kinds of Civ-like games. EU (I do not have it yet) seems a lot like Civilization (compared with Dinosaurs :P ) So why not?

As an aside, IMO, dinosaur really should not be in Apolyton. Colonization or Master of Magic fits much better to the Civ theme than Dino.
You really want to take me seriously?

Like Reismark said, CGN has a new EU forum.

As a side note to Chow Yun Fat: we also have a Colonization forum and an attempt to make a Col2

So instead of staying at one site and getting all my information about the games I like, I have to travel to different sites all over the net.

I have known about CGN but until now had no reason to go there. I just registered at CGN.

This one has my vote too. I can't wait for the release of the A/P version (or for any version that ends up in A/P ). US release in a week or so, so hopefully we won't be too far behind.

Dan, I trust that you/Mark are amenable to changing your minds about an EU forum should this game become anywhere near as popular as it could be?

Seems it would be easier to post at the official forums with people who've actually played the game.

I don't know, guys. This seems like a period game, not a sweeping, multimillenial epic (please correct me if I'm wrong). So EU would fit the same profile as Colonization. Too focused for Apolyton.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

If I were you I would discuss about the EU experience in the Other games section, until it got cluttered and Mark&Dan were forced to open a section about it. It isn't that hard, specially in the Alt.Civs. Section. Any game getting continuously more than 20 posts a day deserves it's own section.

However you must realise that EU is not the only historical TBS game out there. If Apolyton was covering all games of this sort, it should cover Imperialism I & II f.e. and many other games.

Btw I just bought Heroes of Might and Magic III & Armageddon's Blade expansion pack really cheap and it's GORGEOUS! I love fantasy, I love TBS, I love this game!
