What is this? A good piece of news to dam up the previous bad one?

No, but it's great. Now let's see if my sig works...

    ------------------
‘Snapcase was reliable,’ said Mr. Sock gloomily. ‘Remember when he made his horse a city councillor?’
‘You’ve got to admit it wasn’t a bad councillor. Compared to some of the others.’
‘As I recall, the others at the time were a vase of flowers, a heap of sand, and three people who had been beheaded.’

      1) the limit now between changes is 2 months. I think it's ok...

      2) I've created a thread where the changes will be posted http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum20/HTML/000800.html

      3) If someone totally changes his login(instead of correcting a spelling error or something like that), he can use the location field to put "Formerly known as XXX"(that is if he wants, he might not want to tell it to the world(it will be tracked though on the thread mentioned before))

      Great!!

This was a great feature to add in, and now you've almost worked out all the bugs!

Thanks for your hard work and dedication.

Can we change our email address? Mine is an old email that I don't use any longer and I would like to update it without having to "start over."

        I'll give it a try.

        *nope*

hmmm, lemme see if I understand this...

Suppose my username was A, and I then changed it to B. Am I correct in saying that I would be able to revert it back to A before 2 months had gone by, but I would not be able to then change it to anything else?

Warning: Because we require email verification, if you change your email address, a new password will be created for you and emailed to the new email address you list. Thus, do not change your email address unless you can retrieve email from it to get your new password.

              Sorry, I miss read this.

My bad - please disregard the email I just sent you - other than the "Hi!"

<img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>actually, there was a small bug that made the script to work a bit like what you said

it's fixed though: no matter what, if you make a change the next will be in 60 days...

                    I'm back. : )

Oh, MarkG, I'm making a new civ3 site.
                    http://www.icedan.f2s.com/Icedan.htm

I've only just put it up. So you'll have to update that link when its done. :P

Can the admins change the User Name of a poster? Say someone decided (foolishly and rashly) that they want their user name to be "MarkG's Whore", a username which is forbidden by the rules of the forum. Now, they'd get a vacation and a post count reduction, but would they get their old name back? I mean, if they wouldn't, they'd in effect be banned for two months.

Can I ask a favour of an admin/mod??? Please. Could you change my login name to AI or revert it back. I performed a test of this name changing stuff without realising you have gone ahead and enforced the 60-day rule.

The (piss) artist formally known as Provost Harrison is now known as HARDMAN II for the next sixty days. I didn't want to keep this name, but I am stuck. If any mod/admin can help, please oblige.

Provost, you can now change your login. the 60 day limit is not upon you.

I wont do this again people, I have better things to do

Dont play with it, use only if you have really decided that you want to change your login

btw, "Lazarus and the Gimp" now has his original login. Anyone who does something similar will be geting a vacation...
