    • I'm adding my voice to the protest - it seemed to have been designed for maximum negative impact.

      • Just sent an email to Irex@gamestats.com

I suggest others to do likewise.

Thoughtful responses get more attention then flames, by the way.

        • Heh... I downloaded Proxomitron, have now used it for 30 seconds and already love it. A kinda good alternative for a real proxy.

Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

            • Let me just say that if the pop-ups continue I'll be gone. I love the forums here, but I hate pop up windows with a tremendous passion.

                  • While I never had this problem (I already had The Proxomitron installed, which can be set to kill Popups but not ads), I'll send them an E-mail anyway.

                    • No need, the little whore has gone. I hope whirlgirl dies horribly in a road traffic accident.

                      • I've just got mail that the pop-up has been removed from the Gamestats network. Send your thanks to John Hoskin at irex@gamestats.com for his efforts.

And close those evil programs, will you?

                          • Well, the crisis is over, for now. I'll put Apolyton on the ignore list for webwasher, only the popups will be filtered out. Webwasher will stay on however. If sites want to get on the ignore list they'll have to earn it.

Apparently John isn't a big fan of web filtering software (I wonder why?). He considers it a form of theft because I'm reading for free without the ads. Interesting form of corporate management logic. Does that also make people reading newspaper/magazine clippings in public libraries criminals, from a corporate viewpoint?
