Maybe he just plans on going on a diet? Didja think of that? Huh? Didja?
I'm consitently stupid- Japher I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned
I haven't seen Zen's stats, but I just had a look at HongHu's (sp?) stats, and they are also very amazing... she's got more posts than me I think, and she joined in April or May if I remember correctly... that gives 14 posts per day, while you Slayer "only" has about 10 posts per day
I contribute to the forum in my own unique way.
Not only that but she posts in CGN at a remarkable frequency
Hong Hu also post a lot in MZO... mmm... strange.. how she could post a lot in different sites?
Plenty of free time?
Well I have not been able to post in CGN and MZO a lot lately. In fact I really don't have much free time. Otherwise I wouldn't have only noticed my name being mentioned here three days later.
Yea you guess it. It is the demo game. I was born there. My first post was in the demo game. And I live there. I bet 90% of my post count is in the demo game and perhaps 80% is in the Hive private forum. I've been planning to phase out for a long time. I just couldn't do it. (Yes it is a very bad addiction, I know.) One of these days I'll go pick up my long needed sleeps. One of these days.
If you join all her post she must be a Deity.. or its "Deityness"?
Goddess sound better for sure.
I'm perfectly content to stay as a princess.

Ah yes..... the first DG here was the Civ2 one, kicked off soon after I joined - late Jan 2002.
I remember joining that and compiling the Alphabetical listing of posters
although I didn't think that demogaming really started until Trip arrived at apolyton I've for some reason been under the impression that he invented (or stole the idea from CivFanatics) the idea
Darkcloud,
Is there any record of the order in which people received their rankings?
Theben- do you mean when people became emperors?
Well, I can say this with conviction... in 2001- no current demogamers were anywhere CLOSE to emperor status
And here's an old list from October 2000 (I think)
(The last time I modified it was allegedly 5/2/2001)
I'm not quite sure what all my notations mean, but they *might* signify the amount of time a poster has been at apolyton or the # of days *might* signify how long it took that poster to get to Deity/Emperor/King/etc.

-Looking at this list I see that the people with the most
posts were not only active in the OT, but they were active
in on-topic forums as well.
-Thus, post count truly demonstrates how the people who are
worth the most to our forums are the people who make the most
posts (and who have been here the longest)

The Duck of Flanders came up with the idea of a Demo game at CFC ages ago, but his initial idea was some way from the games that are played today. We spent about a month or so thrashing out a feasible way to play it with Civ 2, and that survives, more or less, in its original form in the Civ 2 games, but the Civ 3 players saw that it was good, and created their own games, with political parties and other features that allowed them to "get more involved in the game".
Very cool DC. Before my time as well, and I came just before DGs.
Makes me wish I had joined the forums all those years before Civ3, when all I came here for was to download Civ2 Scenarios, just to be in there as well....
And Demo Gaming did not originate with Trip at all, but he was the chief organiser and first President of the Civ3 one - the biggest game to date. I know because I was the first ever member of that game! In fact Sn00py even made me a special banner for my avatar announcing the fact.
As for the DG bashing, as you put it, it's half a joke, half a discontent feeling about how many DG players almost loath with all their numerous Civgroup icons and their large numbers of accounted posts, out of which many are very spamish. Not to mention that at a few occasions some of the DG players have been stepping on the toes of actual oldskool Apolytoners for being pompous, despite actually still being the opposite of oldskool.
I'm not bashing you and neither does this represent my opinion, but just trying to summarise what I think this DG criticism represents. My opinion is basically that some of you DG'ers shouldn't behave like you were gods around here, just for having achieved Emperor/King status, have posted a lot in DGs and been active there. And yes, I respect DG players and find the concept intriguing. It's just that some DG players have taken it abit too far as an ego boost or something like that.
Just my 0,05€.
