Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I am not saying anything about OT posts at all. I reread it and I think my post is clear on that.
And besides..........I know it is not a democracy (how could I forget that? ). I am not serious about the poll, I was just indicating my surprise at the gamut of opinions on the issue we are discussing here, which is not whether OT posts should count, though some have made points on that related issue.
My first impression was that it would be cool to have two different systems of rank. One for On topic and one for Off topic. Then Ming's earlier post about this being a site for gamers really hit home. That is what Apolyton is really all about and that is what brought most of us here. This is a site about gamers for gamers and owned by gamers. The off topic is provided for us to maintain and grow our community by providing a forum to express other items of interest to us. A good thing to be sure, but not 'Poly's mission.
We are Gamers who like to talk. When we talk about the games then its +1...when we talk about something else then it shouldn't give the +1 to a level used to determine your contribution to a GAMING COMMUNITY.
Posting in this forum should be counted as it is designed to add to the GAMING COMMUNITY and make it a better experience for all. This cannot be said of the Off Topic.
"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003
A new poll isn't going to make them change their minds.
sad but true
That quote is from Ming's post which misinterpreted what was being said here. Now I pretty much agree with Plato's post above, but others (like Chris, who started the thread) clearly don't. I'd presume you also agree with Plato's reasoning............is that right?
you would lose a lot of vital parts of the community
Do you mean the b*llocks by any chance?
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Uh, no one's suggesting we get rid of OT. Where else could folks debate whether your presence is vital?

The OT is vital to Apolyton. It give the gamers somewhere to go inbetween new games/releases.
Otherwise I'm sure that some people wouldn't have stuck around.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
