I've noticed that places like the UK get to have their seporate Kindoms (ok, and Duchy) flags as well as their national flag. Why can't I choice a Californian flag instead of the US national flag? With the US being such a big place it would be useful to let a few of the larger states display their flags in the flag field section here on 'poly.

Australia should well before the US. One of our states alone would take up almost a third of the US's territory.

There are already enough flags. Many people don't even use their correct flag anyway. All you would do is get people trying to pick a unique flag for a state that noone lives in, like Utah.Comment

I bet most of the people in America wouldn't even recognize a state's flag other than their own. I sure as hell wouldn't.
