  • Wow! I feel ten years younger.

Apologies in advance if I am asking a question that has been asked before. I did check recent threads, but saw nothing on it.

My Dec. 59 birthday is coming up correctly in my user defined profile as always. But, it has been a long time since I checked, now the birthday showing on the profile button that others can click on shows Dec. 31 69.

Am I just too old for Apolyton?

I think you can only be too old for Apolyton when you're dead. You maybe getting that because of a limitation with vbullet. I think some user's join date's are december 1969 or january 1970; it may be the same thing.

How did you manage to be born on the 59th of December?
Maybe Apolyton doesn't want to admit that people existed before it did.

There's a known bug with the birthday in your profile displaying incorrectly as Dec 31 69, even when it's set correctly in the control panel.

How long has that been the case? I seem to recall it working correctly before.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

My birthday is correct in my profile. But then I'm younger than RedFred.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

ixnay's response seems like it must be right; the trouble with St. Leo's response is that my Dec 11 59 birthday would only be out a month if the day & month fields were backwards.

Surely it's better to be younger?

Am I correct to assume that it will be correctly shown if your birthday is later than Dec 1969 and otherwise if you were born before that?

Yes, people born after that date have their birthdays displayed correctly.

On most computers, time is stored as a single number. To be precise, the number of seconds since the 1st of January 1970 00:00 GMT.

Apparently the birthday field is flawed and doesn't allow negative numbers, so it sets your birthday to 0 instead (=Jan 1, 1970).

But the conversion from the date you entered to the single number is done in local server time, and the server is located in North America. This timezone difference explains why it displays Dec 31 1969.
