I just found the AC-multiplaying PBEM tournament rules and results. Do we want to use those rules, plus honoring the +4 probe rating via announcement? I favor reverse engineering except for Planetary Networks (I didn't even know you could do this until after I played the game three years off-line and started looking for PBEM). Plus anything our CMN suggests that I've missed. The worst form of insubordination is being right - Keith D., marine veteran. A dictator will starve to the last civilian - self-quoted
And on the eigth day, God realized it was Monday, and created caffeine. And behold, it was very good. - self-quoted

PBEM Tournament Rules and Results
DuncanK – Believers - dunkil@msn.com
Arcainite – Cult - Arcainite@aol.com
Sevencubed – Pirates - full_throttlegr@yahoo.com
Shawnmmcc – Drones - shawnmmcc@hotmail.com
Gibsie - Spartans - daniel_gibbons@hotmail.com, bs01dg@surrey.ac.uk
CMN – Shadowlord3 – dmshadowlord3@yahoo.com
Large planet
30-50% water (this was change from 50-70%)
Average everything else
The following rules selected;
All victory conditions
Do or Die
Look First
No Unity Survey
Bell Curve
Aliens are in the game
I think everyone should play the faction that they want, it makes it more fun and enjoyable. I do not believe that any of the factions would unbalance the game. So I will wait for shawnmmcc and sevencubed to give me a final decision on the factions they want to play. Pirates/Angles or Hive/ Drones.

DuncanK- as I found out recently (Go read my thread "How come my city just got mind controlled?" in the main forum), when a faction has a probe rating of +4 it "rolls back" to a much lower rating, essentially negating the Angels' supposedly superior probe rating (especially once they get covert ops centres in every base).

So, if everyone has the same probe rating..
What is there left that's good about the Angels??
Arcainite
PS - I'll agree, but I prefer a non-tournament style game. But I'll go along with it. I'm not playing the Data Angels this game anyway, but still..

I'm going to suggest the name "no-brainer" game for a tracking thread, as in our shall we say weakness with research. Think about it, the Spartans may be our best researchers :-) Could DuncanK set it up?
I guess you can give them the Hive and the Drones. Or the Pirates and the Data Angels. Your choice.
I suggest we limit the game to 5 human players also"When you ride alone, you ride with Bin Ladin"-Bill Maher
