you can read about "green conquest" in the first page described by Googlie.

"Second place"........... In conquest none other than the last player left to conquer could be on the power graph. And that player could be the weekest player from start to finished, yet by your definition he would finish "second".

Anyway, no co-op at all I could live with that. I'm the only one with conquest so far anyway. If the player finished "second" choose to see that as anything other than just another loser he could do that. No protest from me.
It's close to midnight and something evil's is lurking in the dark.

green conquest, means using mind worms and fungus. although, i would think we'd still be able to use other units, as long as we used a lot of mind worms and fungus.

after all, u can't build mind worms or iods for quite some time.

*nods* I was just curious... many thanks on the green conquest...

Heh... I love your confidence knowhow, anyway, I like how it's all worked out (even if I wasn't expecting to play as Morgan) and am really happy, as long as it is deemed fair, to go either way, because you are right, knowhow... only one faction can trancend or conquest there can be only one victor. Even with mine, sure somebody could ride my coat-tails... but I'd still be the one getting the economic victory.
I'm not conceited, conceit is a fault and I have no faults...

Civ and WoW are my crack... just one... more... turn...

well, i always figured an econ victory would be easier with if u elimniated a few players. i mean, that's less energy u need then.

of course, my fungus will hopefully spread faster than u can tinactin it.

so it looks like no co-op victory then.

doh, i have to get to eco eng to plant fungus, right?

It might be interesting to set some game waypoints that garnered additional victory points - such as the SPs that would be naturals for the factions in the game:

PKs get bonuses for getting the vote-doubling techs (the Empath Guild and Clinical Immortality)

Gaians and Cult for the Pholus Mutagen and XenoEmpathy Dome, Dream Twister and the Manifold Harmonics

Morgan for the Merchant Exchange and the Planetary Energy Grid

UoP and Cyborgs would be the Supercollider and the Theory of Everything, Network Backbone and, of course, the Voice of Planet

Hive would be the Command Nexus and the Cloudbase Academy

            Thoughts?

And as regards Planet size, I agree that maybe to give the conquistadores a chance it should be a large planet, not huge.

re Chaunk - I think it'd be relatively simple to attract a seventh to play the PKs with a "Must win by supreme vote" condition.

KK would come in if it were smac, which would mean the Consciousness and Cult becoming the Believers and Sparta.

            Any comments?

            G.

I take it we would have to build the SPs you just mentioned ourselves? Personally I like that better than just being given them... it makes for some more interesting tactics.

i really wanted to play the cult. as for a 7th player, the reason why i figure it better with 6, is that any game over 4 is already asking for trouble when it comes to turn time. heck, i've got 4 player games that take a week between turns, and it's a tourney game.

as long as the bonuses don't directly affect gameplay, i.e. only matters in calculating the final score, i have no problem with that. also, i thought each faction is supposed to start with a sp.

I'll join and take on the PKs - but I am curious how likely a Supreme Leader victory is with all-.human opponents. Setting aside the condition where I have enough votes to do it myself (possible with Lal, Empath, Immortality, etc), why would anyone vote for Lal except maybe to stave off their own destruction?

Regardless of the answer, I'm interested in playing. And maybe I will figure it out along the way.

I would think with Lal, almost taking the conquer position, however make sure that in the end all the factions are your slaves rather than taken out.

                          Correct me if I'm wrong:

                          1. no aliens (left, or they just weren't in the game from the start.)
                          2. have 3/4 the vote
                          3. [Option three edited out, per Mongoose's correction.]

No. 3 is not a condition. The first two are correct. You also must have MMI to put the proposal to the Council.

well, then that means the pks would need 3/4 votes and MMI to win. of course, they'd probably need the EG too, if they wanted any hope of getting 3/4 by themselves, as I don't see any human faction voting for them.

                              is googlie on vacation?

oh, since this is a no co-op victory type game, are we banning vassals, i.e. submissives?
