    **Automated Message from Morgan Industries**

If you are receiving this communication, it is because the Morganic faction has been destroyed.

Please see that Planet never forgets us, and that our memory lives on.

    CEO Morgan

    (end transmission)

    ---

That's correct, folks - I'm out. It represents my first ever defeat in a PBeM game by an AI faction (my second overall). Basically, my defenders were beaten, except for 3, and there were *9* Hive Impact Infantry units within 3 squares of my bases (spread throughout). Therefore, I felt there was no point and simply allowed my citizens to die a far more merciful death at my hands, rather than be "ravaged" by a "Hardened" (pun intended) Yang horde.

I wish you all luck in the game. Those of you who were fortunate enough to have *NOT* started adjacent to Yang (and there are 3 of you - 1 in particular in an INCREDIBLY advantaged position) are very, very lucky.

    • Ciao, Claw. I guess the escape boat offer was too late. Better luck in your other games!

      • HejdÃ¥ Claw!

So I guess I be forwarding turns to KK now.

Hmm...... will it work if claw terminated himself? I've heard of some endgame bug that occurs when one player destroy himself.
It's close to midnight and something evil's is lurking in the dark.

        • It should be alright. The game ends when a human player eradicates another human. The self destruction of the last base is the work-around.

          • Nope, nope,nope... Something's screwy

It looks like this turn belongs to duMa.

Claw919, I suggest you contact JDM to figure it out.

            • Uh? DuMa?

I could replay the turn (it's at work, so I'd need to do it tomorrow) and leave myself one unit, but there's no conceivable way it would survive more than 5 turns anyhow... Unless him killing my unit would do it.

Mong - thanks for the offer, but I had all size 1 bases (3 of them), and wouldn't have had time to move anything to a boat even if it was sitting there already. Yang decided I was going to die, and, well... I died.

Let me know what you guys think I should do. Might be worthwhile passing the turn to DuMa, KK, and see if he can play it tonight or something.

              • What would that possibly accomplish?

                • What exactly did you do, Claw? I thought from your previous post that you had obliterated your bases. If the turn flipped to duMa, it sounds as though you resigned. Resigning won't work. When you resign, the turn switches to the beginning of the next year (duMa's turn) and everybody after you in the player sequence gets skipped. You must replay, I think, and individually obliterate each of your bases.

                  • I fear that regardless this means yang will be more assertive in his dealings with me...... (gulp).....
You may dispense with the pleasantries commander, i'm here to put you back on schedule.

                    • Let me replay. I actually *DID* resign after obliterating my bases (that's how I knew who was where compared to Yang). I just don't have much experience in losing.

Turn replayed and sent to KK.

                      • Well... Now it says that I have already played this turn (?!). And when I open it, I don't see my position - but your old position claw919 (!?). I again suggest that JDM be contacted...

                        • Claw contacted me and said he will send the turns to me. As long as I'm posting here, My email is John's e-mail in case the PM reply doesn't catch his eye and this does.

When I get it/them, I'll see what I can do. I don't know why I would have any better results doing the same thing as Claw, but at least I can get instant feedback on whether or not it is working without having to email stuff around for each test.

I'll let you know what the possibilities are when I've looked at the turn.

                          • The turns have been sent to John.

                            Thanks, John!

                            • - funganet intercept transcript -

"Oh my God, Commissar MonChoo!, said the aide, ripping off his LocustView headset, looking like he might get sick, "What the hell happened down there - We didn't do that; We couldn't have; the Chairman would have our asses if we did. Oh my God! the Chairman! He can probably feel it himself, even back home. He will know that we didn't do it, won't he?"

"Why don't you cut that 'God' stuff, Comrade Corporal" replies the officer, himself a little wide-eyed at the carnage; "don't we hear enough of that from those so called 'Believers' or whatever they are calling themselves? M#&%^*@!$%ing ^%^%#%$s, that's what they are - I've got something for them to believe in right here - Huh Huh Huh!"

"Did that stuff really happen down there, or did Claw mess with the funganet somehow and screw up our LV imagery? What about Our guys, sir: It looked like their units were charging us and then blowing themselves up, did the mind worms get into their heads or something?"

"What we saw down there, Corporal, was that monster Claw killing all the women and children and then frying the bases so that we couldn't use them. Their men, . . . I don't know what they thought they were doing; I don't think Planet would flip them out without telling us somehow - if we could figure out what it was saying anyway. I think Our guys, . . . , they don't seem too bad, just a few scratches. The Chairman was right, you know - the WormBlood - the RetroV - the Hybrid Vigor - it was all true, all of it; We really are better than them, you know, no matter how much money they throw at it. You think We have trouble using the LV? . . . Talking to Planet? . . . Those guys cant even See on the LV, let alone talk with it or feel with it. The Funganet, . . . , they just barely know it exists. I really feel sorry for them sometimes; they're just like we used to be, and they could be just like us if those stupid leaders of theirs would only let them. I know the Chairman has offered to share the WormBlood with them . . . and to give them all the RetroV they need. That's all it would take, and in a couple of months we'd all be best buds. Instead, we gotta do this kind of stuff, . . . , man I hate those guys. Anyway, we did a good job today, the best we could have done, . . . , I've got to report in to the Chairman now, take a break"

"Chairman, this is Foo, do you read me? . . . . I guess you do, I can't tell for sure with the funganet - the emotalevel is so high after all that . . . . Anyway, the Yellow ArchVermin is dead, I'm sure of it; you could probably feel it too. . . . He took them all with him too, just like you said he would - all the women and children too - Damn, it was bad, it was really, really, bad - it might take a while before some of the troops can get a good nights sleep again. Maybe we need to put on one of those special LV programs, . . . , you know, like we did before the war, . . . , the one showing us all happy and everything with the Morganites, them RetroVee-ing up and all, even the CEO seeing thte light and giving away his money and sharing the WormBlood with the poor . . . Well we can't put on that one again; some of what just happened here would probably leech in from the funganet and give everyone a bad trip, but we could show them one with the People settling all this nice empty land - with all the space anyone could want out here, we could even jack up the spacing to 4 or 5 and still have more room than we need - we can show them the singing, . , the flowers, . . , the rivers, . . . , the women, . . . . , you know, that clone of Zak you've got down below can do practically anything like this that you tell him to do. I'm sure the men will be just fine."

                              • Turn 2140 to KK.

I think its OK now. Ran a full round of turns and it seemed accept that the Morganites are gone without any funny stuff that I could detect. It probably wouldn't hurt to look closely at your stuff to check out that things are copacetic.

"Morgan" self destructed all the extra men next to Yang units (didn't do much damage) and obliterated bases and self destructed and obliterated until there was noone left and nothing but a few strange forests, some human artifacts and 30,000 lost souls needing a prayer.
