A Taprisiot is a sentient telepathic communications device. It takes your conscience across the parsecs and merges it with another mind, allowing you direct and much more intimate communications with that individual without actually having to be there. If you want to know more about the ConSentiency, Caleban's, and Taprisiots, then you should read "The Dosadi Experiment" by Frank Herbert. Its an intense psychological thriller, and I highly recommend it.
