  • Yes you can

Click the offer tech button and at the very end of the list of techs will be comm frequencies and maps. These may be traded/gifted just like techs and a deal will go through whenever both sides have clicked "accept" to exactly the same deal.

If your trading partner has accepted a proposal and you change anything before accepting it (even to add some energy credits for them) this will void their acceptance and be treated as a new proposal to be accepted in the diplomatic screens. personally I will do basic trades in the diplo screen but anything that required negotiation should be done by email.

One other quirk of the diplo screen -- only three " lines of text will be seen by the other player. If you enter 4 lines, you may see it but to the other player, they will never see the first line

          • one more question.

when you put stuff on the table, can u choose stuff from the other person's tech list? i.e. u put down doc mob and u want cent eco, so u select it from them. or do u have to wait for them to put it on?

cuz i'm afraid of putting stuff on and clicking accept. won't it be like a gift?

            • If you offer stuff and click accept, the game will treat it as a trade of that stuff for nothing. if you have agreed to the trade by email, an honorable trading partner will accept your gift and then gift the required things right back. Many players do it in this fashion and and I would consider it a very serious cheat if a player exploited the commlinks and failed to follow through on an agreed deal.

Essentially its a matter of convenience and speed

Consider if it is 2150 and players A and B want to trade. For them to agree on the same deal takes 3 player turns offer- compensation in return with acceptance -- and acceptance back by the first player

The reciprocal gift method would see player B benefit fromthe gift during the same turn

This is probably more than you wanted to know but I use both methods of trading --make an offer in the commlinks or in an email. Either way wworks as long as no one exploits it.

                      • Nope

It is a known "feature " that the AI may do things in your name

                        1. During an election
                        2. if some "demands your withdrawal"

My understanding therefore is that both taking the money in an election from the AI or triggering the demand withdrawal against a human are considered forbidden in MP-- Who wants the AI deciding things for you ??

I do not know if this was explained in the rules anywhere. . .
