The University of Planet announces the retirement of Provost Arborman. He will be succeeded by Krysia's Krusader, a leading scientist from the faculty of abnormal psychology. In the new leader's address to the faculty;

"I swear that I shall lead the 'University of Planet' by moral principles based upon ethical values of rightness from the teaching's of our great philosophers...

Budishi Divor Base; where a drone riot has recently (and ruthlessly) been put down.

"To all my dear faction bretheren. The wanton, Sister Miriam, from the self-righteous Believer's faction, has most 'unethically' attempted to subvert Budishi Divor base, by some insidious mind control probe action. Our 'emegency response', has been succesful in restoring order, however the Believer's actions have left some of our citizen's in a somewhat catatonic state. Our medical faculty fears that this may well last for 10 standard years."

"The University of Planet, will now present you irrefutable proof of this dispicable act..."

(The video cam. now pans to what seems to be a collection of recently nerve-stappled citizens.)

"Borris ! Come here my friend... Now then tell me, and all whom are watching, what they did to you ?"

Borris (who seems to have a sickening smirk permanently entrenched upon his face): "beeblybleblooblujk"

(The vid. cam. now pans back to our beloved Provost)

"Well..., now the whole planet has witnessed the Believer's handy work here. I... Provost Krysia's Krusader..., call upon the rest of the factional leaders of Planet to band together and rid ourselves of Miriam and her hellspawn followers. The University of Planet, so far, has recieved the brunt of her terror... Consider that today it was Budishi Divor, tommorow it may be Velvet Grass Point, The Chairman's Burrow, or Assasin's Redoubt...

(The vid. cam. gently swings to a scene of young children playing in a park. Behind them, on a huge panel, the picture of 'Provost Krysia's Krusader', lovingly gazing down.)

"Chairman, we have picked up transmission traffic from Budishi Divor. The transmission announced that the Believers had initiated a drone attack on the city causing a drone riot forcing Provost Krysia to nerve staple the rebelling citizens."

The Chairman responded "How can that be? Do the Believers even have probe technology yet? Send a private diplomatic note to Provost indicating that we'll remain virgilent of such future endeavors by the Believers!"

The Gaian High Command announces the succesfull completion of The Battle of the Dunes! Over the last 2 Standard Turns, the Gaian military, operating in and immediately around The Great Dunes, have eliminated 1 Laser Rover, 2 scouts, and 2 Probe Teams belonging to the Spartan vermin, all for the loss of one Gaian Probe Team!

Communique - Hive Burrow 1530 hrs

Hive Secretary of State Pillar announced that hostilities with the Believers have intensified although efforts have been made to perhaps enact a truce. Believer negociators continue to insist they will only entered into a truce if the Hive declares war others factions with whom we have friendly relations.

Meanwhile, elements of the 5th Special Forces were successful in infiltrating Believer territory and capturing an unnamed Believer forwards outpost.

Much to the detriment of the Spartans: the Gaian assault has begun!

The concern has also been raised by the U.N. Humanitarian Council about the conduct of Gaian soldiers in the conquest of the southernmost Believer city: although the city is no more, this was not because of an atrocity committed by the Gaian forces. The Believers, fanatics that they are, instead of surrendering, in a final act of defiance blew themselves up with the last of the civilians! The Gaian High Command has videos of this act of self-immolation which they will provide to the UN Commission to justify our side of the story!

An aid came quickly into the briefing room and gave Secretary Pillar a dosier. The Secretray opened and reviewed the information it contained. The note indicated that Believer counter attacks were on in-force against elements of the 5th Special Forces. Although well situated for their defense the Secretary know what difficulties they faced.

He also knew that 'Operation Seaside" may provide them relief.
