I had a look at the Phi Lum and thought I empty it. btw, there is no lurks west of it. and since darius had a foil nearby I thought I should clear out the seabase Beta Mudflats, which I did. However, we're wondering who was just prior to the Cyborgs turn earlier, well guess who? yup me. so at the end of my turn they refilled the two bases with troops. probably something nasty (like AAA fusion stuff). also all the other seabases that I attacked earlier is filled with AAA fusion stuff so I have to upgrade my needles so I can shoot them.
darius, I provided your transport with some aircover. hopefully it helps.
It's close to midnight and something evil's is lurking in the dark.
I Hope to infiltrate the Consciousness next turn if my probe at the Pi Complex Point doesn't get off'd - I've got a fighter standing above it, so it should be safe, but I dunno what's going on over there (which is why I need to infiltrate). Do they have any techs we don't have?
Knowhow2, please continue to refrain from attacking Pi Complex to avoid the problem of them beefing up the defense. I hope to bring over a rover and an Artie piece (both missile, fission unless I can afford to upgrade them) along with a chaos (fusion) chopper (or 2 if I'm rich) as my offense. It should be enough to take Pi Complex if it still resembles what Darius reported a few turns ago. I hope to take it in 4 turns plus or minus one, depending on what forces really are there and exactly what I can do with a (fusion) NJ transport (particularly how far they go and whether the cargo can jump off with the "unload" command outside a base).
I got the BioMachinery tech and am now working (slowly still) at Organic Superlube. I think I am going to build the Cloning Vats as long as I (unintentionally) got BioMachinery, so I don't plan to share it as long as they have the Datalinks - unless one of you can talk me out of building the CV. What I really want is the Living Refinery, but having both would be cool too.
It is interesting how close we three are in the AC score statistic considering how differently we are playing. This game is very interesting and has been a lot of fun for me so far; hope you all have been enjoying it too.

Sorry I've been busy the last few days and haven't had time to post.
Darius, I guess everything worked out very well probe-wise; what happened?
My first land-based probe slipped into Sea Collective unopposed and made off with a tech. The second was met by security interlocks, reducing its chances of success to 66%. (Yes, the interlocks were in place within the same turn.) I held the second back for a while. Meanwhile, I diverted a destroyer probe to the next base north up the coast. Security interlocks! 50% chance of success! Sit back and wait. I sent my next destroyer probe to the next base south along the coast, finding no interlocks there and stealing a second tech. I then proceeded with the previous two probes, in spite of the interlocks, and was sucessful with both, scoring a third tech and the Hive world map.
We should put Phi Lumiere on the early conquest list as it has the Datalinks.
I was thinking the same thing.

(Two thumbs up!)
By the way, the University is working on a Planet Buster. I forget just where; I'll check it out next turn. I think they had about thirty turns to go to finish it, but I'll check on that. And I'll try to remember to check on which (if any) techs the Consciusness has that we don't, and update you on the tactical situation.

Sorry for the reload message; the game just suddenly exited when I clicked on one of the base buttons? I was nearly finished with the turn too; Grrrrrrr.
I infiltrated the Borgs (lost my (elite even) probe just doing that!). I take it that someone attacked Pi Complex and triggered the improved defenses (sigh). That may slow down my conquest there as I will need to have a more substantial force to take it out. I will have some forces on the ground there (at the sensor point) in 2105; probably a task force with a AAA defender or two, a probe or two, probably an Artie to start softening up the base and a rover if it seems necessary (I'd have to strand one of my kludgy transports there to deliver it). If someone takes out the base defenders in 2105, I can take it in the next turn; otherwise, I will take it a bit slower and soften them up first.
Darius, did you know that Aki considers you to be "Brainless"? Speaking of brainless, the fusion NJ transport has a movement of only 5 per turn, which at a total of 10 makes it just long enough to go between 3rd World and Pi Complex, but otherwise not too useful except for domestic shuttling around until I take Pi Complex.

Nothing special to report; still building up task force to move on Pi Complex.
KnowHow2, would you please give me Centauri Empathy; thanks.
Darius, do you have infiltration on the Spartans; the University?
Do I take it correctly that the Interceptor Scramble bug is also triggered by anti-virus programs as well as scrolling mouse drivers (and whatever else)? Any anti-virus programs in particular?

The Hive has subverted Sea Collective (the second Hive base I captured a while back) along with 4 units. Also they're launching airstrikes on my territory from Sea Hive.
2204 to John.
