The 150 posts rule was introduced for reasons of server speed and script reliability, I believe. Long threads become very very slow to post in, and apparently slow down the entire server. Plus, in very long threads (500+ posts) the script would occasionally crash the entire thread, making it disappear altogether. A 150 limit is safely on the low side of all these problems.Comment
