With great Joy our people have worked upon our infrastructure, installing more of he equipment needed to settle this land quickly and efficiently.

With great Sadness we transmit this message to our comrade Keygen, whose Network meltdown is well known. We pray for his quick repair, as we are quite enjoying this game, and some of our plans are finally reaching fruition.

On. Killed three 3-res garrisons. Unfortunately there's 3 more to go.

We continue to build our infrastructure. Our first battleship was just launched.

On another note (off game here) I just picked up Civ3. It looks good so far, but one big disappointment is NO multiplayer!

Well, this idea of mine has raised some good questions. I think it would be best if I stay the course rather than play the "UN" role officially. Of course there is nothing that says that I can't do it unofficially. So I'll stay as a regular player.

My original idea was well intended, but probably too hard to carry out fairly. Playing this game is more important than winning it for me. I thought I would test the water to see if this would spice things up.

Thanks to all of you for your input. I've enjoyed this game very much so far and those playing in it.

    Back to killing aliens!!!!!!

Being a sub. I admit I have found it difficult to get into this game. Still things are going OK at the moment.

Reggy: Play however you want. I'm not sure how such a stance will work in practice though. Does this mean I can probe you for tech & credits with impunity? Does this mean if I want to go for a conquest victory that you won't fight back?

    hmmm................

I don't like talking about my strategy, but I suspect my position is not as weak as it once was. Whether my neighbors have similar strengths that will allow them to triumph over me (not the least being my total locan of focus on SP's), or whether I can slingshot out into the lead is something I really can't predict.
I'd say if Reggy wants to go for UN Peacekeeper role, good for him. Play the game how you like. Spell your name out in roads if you want. Whatever makes it amusing for you.
I do think I have a shot at it, though. My toughest problem lies in the fact that I'm really quite loyal to Reggy because his assistance saved me in the beginning, when I had lost a bunch of cities to mindworms (for a while, I really thought they were going to kill off my faction!) and later against the squids on my home continent. So that loyalty means that even though I could win the Planetary Governorship (or at least have a really good shot at it), or do other things that might help me and harm my ally, I am loath to use them. Shrug. I'm really not sure how to handle it, because I usually just play to win, but I also really like all my fellow players.
I would like to bring up another thing about play-style, though. PB's. I'm a builder. I like building up my nation. If anyone decides they want to use PB's, PLEASE lets announce it first, at least. Big wet holes in my nation do not appeal to me right now (though they may later, if everybody feels like it).

A copy of my previous email. Please give me feedback on it as I do not want to do this unless all support this.

    SMACX 2241 to Hobbes

To all fellow players. I have an important announcement. I have decided
that I do not want to win this game. One of you will. I will play a
UN role. I will support the just and boycott the unjust. I will attack
directly if attacked (Alien nation the exception)only, but I will not
lead aggression against any fraction. I may choose to provide aid to
a fraction that is in need of it, but may or may not choose to fight
    in the war.

I thought this would make the game more interesting as you are all relatively
equal. If this is an offensive stance I will reconsider and play normally.
I am only doing this to make this more fun for all, so if people do not
like this, it would make no sense to do this.

Please let me know if there are any objections. If any one objects I
will revert to the old Reggy and not disclose anyone's objections.

    Captain Reggy

Let us retain Plan Green for four more years. The cash will aid our expansion.

    "15% Growth."

"Sir, intelligence reports indicate our neighbors have acquired XXXXX XXXX!"

"Switch to Plan Green. We need cash, and we need it now!"

    Great Intertwining is ours.

Reload is the result of a Terran.exe crash for no apparant reason. Was worried because it occurred after all my battles, but the result was almost identical the second time through.

"17% growth this year" smirked Yang.

WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP! YOU HAVE 8 MINUTES TO REACH DESIGNATED WORK POSITIONS!

"&^%%!!!! I thought we had more time! Send the move! Quick! We can still make it if we hurry!"

YOU NOW HAVE 7 MINUTES TO REACH DESIGNATED WORK POSITIONS!

Expansion has been temporarily halted due to the presence of an unexpectedly tough spore launcher. Strategy is being rethought at this moment. Took out our frustrations on a stray probe-team instead.

We have taken an alien base in the north. More to fall soon. Between Hobbes and our people, we are putting the squeeze on them.

Message for Hobbes: Our forces have eliminated one alien unit near your newly acquired base. We will attempt to move our naval support to your next target in support. Lastly, you are welcome!

"Sir, our growth this year was 18%..."

"Indeed, councilor Yang? I thought we could maintain our high rates?" interrupted Morgan with a slight smirk.

Yang gazed coldly at his rival for a moment, then continued. "18%. Slight lower than last years, but still far more significant than any of our rivals. Already we are reaping the benefits of extra people, as our infrastructure..."

"Our infrastructure cannot hold so many people" interrupted Morgan again.

"Damnit, Morgan!" Yang lost his temper, jumping to his feet with a snarl. "With more people to work, we can build up our infrastructure more quickly!"

"Without money to rush our building, we are nowhere!" shouted Morgan, banging his fist upon the table.

The Chairman gazed at the squabbling men for a few moments, then quietly touched his desk. A graph flashed upon the wall behind him.

"As you can see, already our revenue is at 50% of where it was before we implemented the plan, up almost double over last year. Although growth is off, it has not reached its expected plateau. We will continue with the Plan into its third year, while retaining options. Morgan, prepare a dossier on plan Green. We will see whether a switch will benefit us. Meeting adjourned."
