>>Begin Flashnow
Hearing vague rumors of Brother Smith's luck from straggling wanderers on the face of planet Chairman Em grimaces pondering his situation on the bleak, forboding landscape and wonders how the "assimilation" of said wanderers has been proceeding... Walking along the perimiters of the defensive walls of the Hive the Chairman tries to mentally push his exploring forces to move faster and expand his boundaries. Yes, yes boundaries are just a simple crass tools of unenlightened governments... but the idea remains. As those boundaries expand... he ponders... surely we will run into other survivors who will be disorganized from the trauma of planet fall. Chairman Em smiles. Yes, he will show these disorganized masses the true enlightment and order of his Human Hive.

My Dear Data Jack Misotu,
Of course you and your crazy anarchic and "freedom loving" people would look down upon the order and enlightenment of the Human Hive! Your people only know how to destroy (and subvert!) the order that others create. I only feel sadness that your people will never know the true enlightenment that me and my people share. Perhaps you should read my "Essays on Mind and Matter" and get your people away from those Probe-Terminals.
Sincerely Yours,
Chairman Em-jay Cue

To our favourite Chairman:
Hey, don't sweat it. You and your people can have all the order you like in your own place. We're sure you understand that we won't be joining you there. We like probe terminals and, anyway, our sense of personal style means your rather drab uniforms are not for us. Thanks all the same ...

PS I'm not sure I've ever written any essays you'd enjoy. But I've got a few albums you can borrow next time you're in the area. Call in for a coffee ... but leave your troops at homeTeam 'Poly
