As for the advanced guide, I'm happy to try and help, but how shall we organise it? And what shall we classify as advanced? Perhaps topics like:
Ecodamage Management
Combat post Doc Air
Tech beelining post IA
The metagame
PBEM/multiplayer strategies
...and many, many more?

I don't see any reason to limit our links to just Apolyton. We want the best strategy guide for ourselves to use, so if someone has some good SMAC strategy out there...

Indeed, we can link to anything we find useful. The first link should be the one Googlie posted above. This is your "basic training" as a SMAC/X player.

The one Googlie posted is for SMAX. This one is for SMAC. I'm not sure if this was simply 'copied' into the Googlie's link and had SMAX information added, although? I haven't really sat down and read those yet, I admit. It's a shame I know.

EDIT: I quickly scanned Googlie's link and it seems that there's no updates on landmarks introduced to the game via SMAX. An oversight? It doesn't make this guide any less excellent nevertheless.

Those Synergy posts by Vel are mostly stuff that missed the publication date for the guide. Sweet strategy goodness (although as usual for Vel, no hard numbers)

I'll have to get and read those... then I might actually become a decent player... although, I will have to admit, I have come up with a few irregular strategys on my own... most of which I found lots of people use here....
