Thanks for the tips guys. I'll definitely download that file. I really enjoyed not having to play 'disk jockey' in order to play. I understand the need for copy protection, but there must be a better way.

Hey Vi Vicdi. so that you know.. you only had to do that for about the first week or so once firaxis came out with the patch.. i of course anticipated a few.. kinks with the new patch and waited a week, while Firaxis quietly replaced their patch with one that included the v4 "terran.exe" file...
so basically, what i'm saying is, if anyone else asks .. "what do i need to do.. i got both cds..." the answer is.. install the first, install the expansion, download v2.0 for smax, and you're ready to go..

Bumped"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. But they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

Sigh. . . I know, but I keep hoping that Firaxis will stand by their word. I keep discovering more annoying bugs, not design decisions or hardware conflicts, in every game I play."In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. But they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? Guys, other than the AI, what needs fixing?
They fixed the missile bug and the infinite range artillary bug, as well as adding tons of other enhancements.
Oooh! I found one: When you zoom in on the mini map and have a unit under "go to" orders, you get a colored overlay of each faction's territory (instead of the normal zoom in view). Try clicking around. The bases and the landscape scroll separatly!
But still, does this warrent a patch? Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. And perhaps everyone else, too.
