  • Freeing a captured leader from a recently freed leader??

I've been playing SMAC/X for some years now, and as many people recently pointed out on many other threads, new things still happen after all this time in this game.

In my current game at transcend level (random large map) I'm playing as Data Angels, I built for myself a nice empire on a northern continent, and a much larger southwestern one was shared by a bunch of other factions. Naturally they were at war with each other, and soon Miriam destroyed the Drones faction. Some time later, she got in trouble with the Hive (big mistake ) and was losing bases real fast.

Then I had this idea of freeing Domai before Miriam gets trounced, but she lost her capital before I could do that and a few turns later got eradicated by the Hive (which by then was the most powerful faction in the game).

A while later, Yang decided to attack me, and during the course of the war I somehow managed to reach his faraway capital by my foil probes and freed Miriam from her torture chamber (Free Miriam? I dont know why I did that, I guess I was just pissed at Yang ). At this point I was suddenly curious, as to what happens now to Domai, I mean, in whose torture chamber he is now. Well, guess what, Miriam didnt forget to take him with her on her way out of Yang's torture chamber and the next probe foil I sent to her new capital found him there, in HER torture chamber Now, that's some hatred Naturally, I couldn't help but free Domai from her clutches just for the novelty of "freeing a captured leader from a recently freed faction leader"

Wow now this was something, I mean, how does this work out, isn't Domai supposed to be in the hands of chairman Yang? I don't know if something like that happened to you guys but I just wanted to share my amazement anyway about this whole thing

    I just love this game

This is some weird ass hardcore shit, dude.

It is quite frankly shit of an ass far weirder, and a core far harder, than anything I have heretofore seen in SMAX.

*Very* cool discovery. You learn new things about this game all the time!

I think the OT has exerted it's influence on you AC.

Personally, I've never heard of this and I wouldn't be surprised if something weird like this happened...but I am still surprised.

What WAS the Chairman thinking about!?? He should have executed both of them on the spot!

I vaguely remember a thread about what happens to faction leaders that the Chairman captures. I remember Miriam would get Crucifixion and Morgan basically has to buy his air. I remember Deirdre doesn't get any punishment except she has to wear a chastity belt (O the torture).

Yeah, I stared at the screen for a while in mixed feelings of wonder, joy and disbelief when I saw the "free captured faction leader" option at Miriam's new HQ...

I'll have to ask this to Yang when he takes his well deserved place in MY torture chamber But maybe even he has a softspot (no he hasn't), or some other sick motive

I would be inclined to be ummm...more forgiving with regards to Deirdre...On second thought, I may even refrain from subjecting her to any kind of punishment I'm sometimes so, ummm, what was the word, ah yes, considerate

I still try to visualise this whole thing: My probe team enters Yang's gallows, they sneak past the security grid and the guards, they resuscitate Miriam and then she goes astray:

Probe captain: "Maam, we have to go this way"
Miriam: "No! I can't leave without him!"
PC: "What the hell are you talking about?? We have to run, NOW!"
M: "I said NO! We go to cell number 234-Z2 and get that Domai sucker outa there, ahem, in the name of God, I mean"
PC: "Zion team to HQ, we have a situation here, subject noncooperative, request permission to terminate subject"
              >radio chatter<
PC: Yes sir....perfectly clear sir.....No sir, I wouldnt want that happen to me sir....Acknowledged sir, Zion team out"

              You figure the rest

Eurgh the idea of Domai and Miriam sharing punishment spheres is just too sordid for words.

I mean, does Domai even wash?

Dunno, but Miriam sure did find that out herself...

Maybe this unlikely companionship with Domai opened new theological insights for Miriam :lol I mean, we should give Yang some credit here too, who else could have thought of keeping them together as some sort of supreme torture, for everyone concerned?

This is the strangest thing I have ever heard of in SMAC. I'm going to try to reproduce it myself

This is certainly the most interesting and funny thread on this forum for a long time . I really love this discovery. Honestly, trying to think in the ways a game programmer would do, it is natural do have it that way. But comparing to real life ...

Just which pairing is most torture for those concerned:
                        Zak-Miriam? Both going mad
Yang-Aki? Nice couple, if you look at their inherent growth settings ...
Why doing it the easy way if it is possible to do it complicated?

Adalbertus, inclusion of Miriam would make any arrangement torturous enough

                            Lal-Miriam? *gasp*.

It may also be fun to watch Santiago and Miriam sort it out between themselves. Another horror case would probably be Fungus Boy and Miriam...

There are all sorts of possible pairs...What about trios? Actually, such tales of captivity may even be the stuff of further AC novels/stories . I wonder if you can go as far as imagining romances between faction leaders, I mean, what can be more spicy than a hearbroken Deirdre seeking revenge on (enter a guy's name here, I can't figure out if any of the guy faction leaders are handsome enough for this aberration to sound reasonable ) and (a gal's name, ummm, why not Aki, but she can't love, can she...forget it...), but just then she (Deirdre) discovers that she's a mutant- (oooops, wait, what the hell am I talking about? I guess it was a BAD idea to stretch the imagination like this )

*cough* ahem, yes, still dizzy with the inexhaustible flexibility and surprising nature of this game

Not too long ago there was a thread where somebody mentioned the idea of filming a three way leather and latex Punishment Submission Domination Lemon Pink Pineapple Sphere gangbang between Santiago, Deirdre, and Aki Zeta-5.

                              ...

I don't really know why I even brought this up. Please ignore.
